The African Network for the Prevention and Protection against Child Abuse and Neglect (ANPPCAN) is a Pan African, Non-Governmental, Non-profit making and service delivery organization, legally instituted to fight against all forms of Child Abuse and Neglect and promotion of Child’s rights in Nigeria in particular and Africa in general. Her mission is “To work for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and the Protection of Children from such Negative tendencies.”

ANPPCAN was an offshoot of a child labour conference organised in Nigeria, 1986 to tackle the menace of child labour in Africa. A resolution was passed to form a network to address child labour in Africa. This makes ANPPCAN Nigeria, the first chapter of the network. ANPPCAN is focused on driving institutional, community, and societal changes towards protecting children and promoting their rights and other cross-cutting issues. This mandate is pursued through advocacy; collaboration, partnering, and networking; research, and programme interventions.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Case Manager

Location: Asaba, Delta

Details
Currently, ANPPCAN is executing a project funded by the International Organization of Migration(IOM) “To provide support in setting up income-generating activities for returned migrants”. ANPPCAN will work closely with returned migrants:

  • To provide support to returning migrants (Including assistance to individuals and groups) to set up income-generating small businesses.
  • Support returning migrants to enrol in TVET training opportunities as part of reintegration assistance.

The Case Manager is expected to assist ANPPCAN in managing returned migrants to ensure they are reintegrated into the society especially through setting up income-generating activities and any other complementary reintegration need of the returnees- assist in reintegration counselling, identifying their training needs if any and support returnees in preparing reintegration plans for the implementation of their reintegration activities.

Roles / Responsibilities

  • Assist beneficiaries in obtaining necessary documentation (e.g., registration and license, valid Identity card, Affidavit etc.) needed to facilitate their reintegration.
  • Develop a reintegration assistance plan based on needs assessment indicating the type and purpose of assistance as well as resources/skills required to help individuals and groups successfully reintegrate.
  • Support in identifying vendors, TVETs centres and obtaining necessary documentation (invoices/quotations) for the purchase of goods and services in a competitive process for the implementation of the project as well as business premises (shop).
  • Support returnees in the implementation of selected income-generating activity.
  • Conduct visits (assessment) in the localities of origin selected and identify feasible types of income-generating activities for better economic rehabilitation.
  • Monitoring of beneficiaries’ progress and weekly reporting to the Program Manager.
  • Reintegration assistance of migrants in situations of vulnerability, support with family strengthening initiatives, risk assessments, family assessments and provision of psychosocial support.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A Degree in Social Science, Development Studies, Business Management and any other relevant field; A Master’s Degree is an added advantage. Additional experience might be considered.
  • Must be resident in Delta State and available to start work immediately.
  • At least 4 years working experience in case management and assistance to vulnerable group.
  • At least 2 years accrued experience working with returned migrants.
  • Experience working with small to medium-scale businesses in Nigeria is an added advantage.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and inter-personal relationship skills
  • Demonstrable emotional intelligence and people’s skill.
  • Good in report writing.
  • Good computer literacy with knowledge of MS Office Applications and Web Conferencing Applications.
  • Enlightened in culture and gender-sensitive programming and intervention.
  • Ability to work to meet deadlines in tight schedules.
  • Good presentation skills.
