What to expect:

  • Responsible for directing and coordinating the daily operations of SHL’s formulations manufacturing plant. This includes developing efficiency strategies to ensure the plant meets production goals and standards at minimal manufacturing costs.
  • Work to increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
  • Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping.
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
  • Collect and analyse data to find places of waste or overtime.
  • Responsible for plant safety procedures.
  • Address employee’s issues or grievances.
  • Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts.
  • Ensure that all plant equipment is maintained efficiently to give lowest cost life cycle and obtain optimal manufacturing efficiency as per GMP and safety.
  • Prepare and gain agreement for and implement operating capital expenditure plans within acceptable cost limits.
  • Ensure that the appropriate GMP practices are implemented throughout the factory to ensure that it routinely passes all local and international regulatory audits.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal working relationships with all employees’ teams (both Company employed and Contract Casual Labour) to promote good industrial relations.
  • Build and maintain 1st class working relationships with all local civilian bodies, and various regulatory authorities to ensure high levels of local PR and minimal interference in our operations.
  • Ensure that timely and effective communication and escalation process exists to raise quality issues to the appropriate levels of management.
  • Participation in management reviews of process performance, product quality and quality management system and advocating continual improvement.
  • Ensure that all levels of staff are recruited, developed, and motivated to maintain and improve departmental and overall productivity performance.
  • To review and approve performance management approvals.

Essential qualifications, experience and skills:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree with preference for Pharmacy.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working in manufacturing in pharmaceuticals (formulations) industry, with 3-4 years’ experience in leading manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge of Regulatory Guidelines.
  • Familiarity with ERP Systems as SAP and Educe.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage relationships with team and other stakeholders.
