We recruit Nigeria’s most promising future leaders from varied disciplines to teach in Nigeria’s underserved schools in low-income communities through a highly selective, two-year fellowship. The Teach For Nigeria fellowship is a transformational leadership program that equips Fellows with transferable leadership skills to effect change beyond the classrooms in the communities we serve. After the fellowship, alumni of Teach For Nigeria build on their classroom teaching experience to drive long-term systemic changes in the educational sector in Nigeria as they progress into leadership roles in their varied professions. The Teach For Nigeria model is based on the proven success of 40 country organizations including: Teach For America, Teach First UK, Teach For Ghana, Teach For Bangladesh, Teach For Nepal and Teach For India, who are all part of the Teach For All network.

Major Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

The Development and Partnerships Associate will directly report to the CEO. Together, they are responsible for securing the financial and strategic resources necessary to advance Teach For Nigeria’s vision of impact. The Associate will be responsible for:

  • Leading on prospect research in alignment with the Development Strategy and goals
  • Designing and managing Development & Partnership tools such as the fundraising calendar and donor cultivation
  • Leading on proposal writing, reports, and grant applications as appropriate
  • Managing internal communications between the Development and Partnerships team and other key functional units.
  • Supporting the unit to ensure that Teach For Nigeria’s yearly fundraising target is met by designing and implementing creative fundraising campaigns
  • Managing the planning and execution of fundraising-related events

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience required in managing processes and systems to help monitor progress./
  • Experience in Proposal writing.
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and using data to inform strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Experience working and living in Nigeria or in a country with a similar context to Nigeria.
