We are seeking to hire a People and Culture Coordinator to support the achievement of the organization’s strategic goals of LEAP Africa in 2024 and beyond!

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: People and Culture Coordinator

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Core Functions / Responsibilities

  • LEAP’S Culture: Support to foster the growth and development of LEAP’s culture within the organization by implementing initiatives based on LEAP’s vision, mission, and values.
  • HR Strategy: Support to execute the HR strategy for the overall employee experience, from hire to retire, ensuring employees have a positive, engaging, and rewarding experience in the organization.
  • Policies & Processes: Assist to create policies and processes to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization’s talents; Foster the growth and development of the LEAP’s culture within the organization by implementing initiatives based on LEAP’s vision, mission, and values.
  • Recruitment: Support with the update, implementation, and documentation of effective recruitment and talent management systems. Assist to manage the recruitment life cycle – job posting, assessments, interviews, onboarding, etc.
  • Staff Compliance: Enforce and ensure compliance with all HR, people, and culture policies/processes, including the staff handbook, and regularly update them in accordance with local and international laws and best practices.
  • Staff Engagement: Support to develop and implement employee engagement strategies, which include but are not limited to team bonding, happy hour sessions, staff retreats, staff feedback sessions, internal communications, celebrating employees during birthdays, life events, etc.
  • Reporting: Regularly provide supervisor with data-driven reports; Constantly analyze HR processes to improve on your work and achieve operational excellence.
  • Admin Function: Perform administrative HR functions, including Coordinating the submission of relevant documents by all employees, proper filing of staff employment documents on the ERP system, ensuring all staff files are updated, Maintaining records related to vacations, sick leave, grievances, and other people matter; Process and regularly update personnel, payroll, and job applicant records, generate monthly or annual reports; Manage statutory payment for staff PAYE, pensions, NHF, Life insurance etc. and ensure prompt remittances are done, manage LEAP’s health insurance.
  • Staff Training: Continuously assist to implement a comprehensive learning and development plan including staff training needs but not limited to online training, quality in-house training programs, and classroom and virtual training for all staff; Develop training and learning programmes for the different teams in the organization and share with supervisor
  • Career Progression: Assist in mapping LEAP employees career progression working hand in hand with managers/supervisors.
  • Performance Management: Support with the performance management life cycle within the organization – annual goals setting, performance evaluation process, etc.
  • Supervision: Provide supervisory support to other team members assigned for you to manage.
  • Reward & Compensation: Regularly recommend a systematic rewards and compensation system
  • Continuously update the HR Playbook
  • Carry out all other tasks assigned by your supervisor.

Requirements
The required candidate should possess the following:

  • Minimum of a University Degree; Masters’s Degree in any field is an added advantage.
  • 4+ years of robust experience with a minimum of a university degree or 2/3 years of robust experience with a minimum of a Masters degree; experienced in active engagement in youth leadership development, program management or associated fields at a management level.
  • Experience in programme design and delivery, policy analysis and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Think strategically with high creativity, conceptualization and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-stakeholder projects and work in a team
  • Possess very good interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, conflict resolution skills, discipline, empathetic, and with sound judgment.
  • Strong work ethic; Positive attitude, and willingness to travel locally and regionally.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office suite, Google Suite, data entry and analysis tools
  • Excellent communication and speaking skills, both oral and written.
  • Great presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Performance-driven, goal-getter and mission-oriented.
  • Self-driven, innovative, and motivated, team player, culture driven and very confidential.
  • Aligned with LEAP Africa and partner organizations with youth leadership, activism and social change.
