Context
Médecins Sans Frontières is a private, not-for-profit international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in distress, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed, or political affiliation.
Main Purpose
Planning, coordinating and monitoring all logistics related activities in the project or capital and providing support to medical assistance activities, according to MSF protocols and standards in order to ensure an optimal running of the project.
Job Description
- The Logistics Manager would support the Logistics Coordinator in the definition and follow-up of logistics activities in the capital, in conjunction with other medical project managers in order to identify and give a response to the needs of the targeted population
- Constructing and rehabilitating of MSF France facilities in coordination:
- Defining the need and making scope of work with the drawings
- Searching the quality companies
- According to the budget, make contracts after the quota analysis
- Making chronogram of logistics activities
- Receiving the maintenance request from international mobile staff or locally hired staff and give the right instructions to Logistics Supervisors or maintenance agent.
- Planning log tour and equipment maintenance (ACs, water dispensers, IRS spray) with Maintenance Agent.
- Supervising the work done by Logistics Supervisor and Maintenance Agent.
- Checking the power trouble of generator, especially at warehouse after receiving the alarm from cold chain and informing Country Mechanic.
- Collaboration with supply:
- Make monthly consumable request
- Validate the internal request made by the Specialized Technicien and Mechanic
- Follow up the back order
- Movement Management:
- Check the kiss movement schedule and work closely with Base Logistics on the field to make the TSF and prepare the perdiem and the security money for drivers
- Follow up the kiss movement, EPREP movement and airport movement
- Make a road assessment and etablish the key security contacts along the road
- Supervise Radio Operators and Drivers
- Budget Management:
- Define the budget for next year based on the need in all permises
- Monitor the expense and follow up the forecast budget of year
- Request the operational advance according the need.
- Manage MSF prepaid and postpaid mobile lines and make a payment of mobil line’s bill and iternet bill.
- Security Management:
- Give the Abuja security briefing and the movement planning and protocol to all Regular Mission Staff. (Locally hired and International Mobile Staff)
- Follow up closely the security context in Abuja (protest, kidnapping, police check point etc) and informs updated security information to all staffs
- HR Management:
- Organize monthly drivers/radio operator meeting and watchman meeting
- Make a driver’s roster
- Request the daily worker acoording to needs
- Make the inventory of logistics equipment into MEMO.
- Follow up the maintenance monthly report and monthly mechanic report.
Requirements
Education
Essential: University Degree, Essential Technical Diploma in related field, preferably as an engineer
Experience
Essential:
- 2 years’ logistics related experience
Desirable:
- NGO or MSF experience
Languages
- Fluency in English is mandatory

Contract
208 working hours per month
Remuneration
According to MSF salary scale plus 13th month allowance equivalent to 1 month of gross salary.
