Under the supervision of the Premises Maintenance Supervisor, the Premises Maintenance Officer ensures proper maintenance of ICRC premises and equipment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures that premises and equipment are properly maintained and that all utilities are working as they should.
- Orders or purchases any necessary material, in coordination with logistics staff.
- Maintains and repairs equipment and infrastructure, including plumbing, carpentry, electricity, mechanic, and welding according to capabilities and competences; coordinates and/or supervises any work done by external providers.
- Checks regularly critical points on premises including electricity, safety, passive security (walls, gates, lights (water circulation, sewage, and reports to Supervisor for swift correction.
- Ensures that safety measures are always being adhered to when doing plumbing, carpentry, electricity, mechanic
- Reports immediately on incidents regarding any maintenance issues.
- Follows up, performs and/or supervises external supplier’s regular maintenance performance including air conditioning service, water tank service, compound cleaning (trees, grass, blocks, trenches) and pest control.
- Performs and follows up regular reading and recharging of electric meters and of water and any other meter when applies.
- Carries out pre move-in maintenance under the supervision of the Supervisor or Administrator
Education and Experience Required
- Technical school or equivalent
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English.
- Basic knowledge of computers and ability to run excel and word.
- 2-3 years’ experience in similar position.
- Expertise knowledge of air conditioner and refrigerator
- Plumbing, carpentry, electricity, mechanic skills can be additional value
- Driving license is essential category D
