Health Development Alternative Initiative (HDAI) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with its Head office located at No.150 Gidan Halilu Getso opposite New Police station Rijiyar Zaki, Kano, has vacancy for qualified Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer. Who is required to provide technical input to the project implementation and also ensure that the community case management workers are guided properly top deliver their services to the project beneficiaries? The Minimum requirements is HND or BSc.

Summary

The Integrated Child Health and Social Services Award (ICHSSA 3) is a USAID funded five-year project (i.e., November
2019 – November 2024) targeting all 44 LGA’s of Kano state. The project is implemented by a consortium of three
organizations led by Society for Family Health (SFH) with Save the Children International (SCI) and American International

Health Alliance (AIHA). The goal of ICHSSA 3 is to reduce the impact of HIV and AIDS on orphans and vulnerable
children (OVCs) and therefore assist in attaining epidemic control. The project is to ensure that OVCs are cared for and
protected by their households, communities, local and state governments. ICHSSA3’s life of project target is 118,999
beneficiaries in Kano State.

The project focuses on four result areas to achieve the project goal:
1) Households have increased access to basic services and care for OVC
2) Communities ensure that OVC secure their rights
3) Local and State Governments deliver basic services and detect and respond to child rights violations
4) Prioritized targeted services for specific OVC sub-populations utilized.

Scope of Work

The project staffs shall work to meet the project goals by providing supports and guidance to the community case
management workers to deliver their work effectively to the beneficiaries.

In addition to the summary above, specific duties and responsibilities include the following:

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
• Support community assessments, Mobilization and Resource Mapping.
• Conduct baseline and follow-up surveys using essential survey tool, child status index form and Nutrition Assessment tool.
• Support the selection and enrolling of project beneficiaries using project forms and registers.
• Lead other project staff to review Monthly Home Monitoring Visits Tools submitted by Community case management worker.
• Collate and report monthly, Project Performance indicators using ICHSSA3 project performance tracking tool.
• Lead the electronic capturing of beneficiaries’ records and services provided on National OVC Management Information System (NOMIS) and data entry into DHIS2 server.
• Support technical staff to ensure project beneficiaries enjoy tailored services through unique case management.
• Lead the conduct of regular site monitoring visits to project site using appropriate supervisory and monitoring checklist.
• Responsible for Conducting monthly data review meeting with Community Case Management worker.
• Conduct data analysis using Excel, Epi-info and SPSS and share result with other project staff.
• Perform quarterly internal Data Quality Assessment DQA.
• Submit data reports as may be required.
• And any other task that might be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential:
• The position holder must pose a degree /HND in computer science, statistics, Public Health, or any related discipline
• Must have at least 2 years relevant experience in the same position as an M&E officer
• Must have a good knowledge of the NOMIS
• High computer skills, including the ability to rapidly process and analyze data using the following: MS Excel, MS
Access, and any other software.
• Proven Expertise in quantitative and qualitative methodology and research
• Must have a good knowledge of USAID funded project and her reporting procedures

Desirable:

• Familiarity with OVC and community-based programming in Nigeria
• Experience in training others in NOMIS
• Prior work experience in OVC Program in Nigeria.
• Knowledge of the policies, functions, structures and decision-making processes of key national institutions with
regard to OVC program.
• Experience working with children on Health and Nutrition will be an added advantage.
Local language skills (Ability to communicate in Hausa and other local languages will be an advantage).
