Job Summary:
The Finance & Grants Lead will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the financial and grant management strategies of CPHI. This position ensures that all financial policies, procedures, and practices comply with organizational, donor, and national requirements. The role also involves risk management, capacity building within the finance team, and ensuring the efficient allocation of resources to support CPHI’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance:
- Develop and implement financial strategies and policies in alignment with CPHI’s goals.
- Collaborate with technical teams to provide financial insights for program planning.
- Manage general ledger and accounts processes, ensuring robust financial controls.
- Oversee cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and month-end processes.
- Supervise tax management, reporting, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate annual financial statements, external audits, and year-end processes.
Grants Management:
- Administer and manage grants to ensure compliance with donor regulations.
- Develop and implement grant budgets and forecasts in collaboration with the Project Director.
- Monitor grant implementation and lead the budgeting process to optimize resource allocation.
- Ensure financial records for grants are maintained and ready for audits and reviews.
- Develop SOPs for grant management to enhance productivity and collaboration.
Governance:
- Ensure compliance with statutory and legal requirements, including annual reporting.
- Provide financial advice to the Board and Executive Director.
- Engage in financial modeling and analysis, presenting reports to the Board.
Human Resources:
- Lead, mentor, and coach the finance and grants compliance team.
- Conduct capacity-building training and performance reviews for the finance team.
- Evaluate and propose improvements to grant management processes.
Qualifications and Essential Competencies:
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
- ACCA or ICAN professional qualification is required.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience, including 2 years in grant management.
- Experience with US Government project grants is an advantage.
- Proficient in QuickBooks and advanced in MS Office.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and supervisory abilities.
- Passion for social impact and a proactive, self-motivated attitude.
