 The International Committee of the Red Cross – ICRC- (www.icrc.org) is an independent humanitarian organisation, neutral and impartial. Yola Sub Delegation is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the vacancy below

Under the supervision of the Head of Sub Delegation and Executive Assistant and IM Officer, the Assistant & IM Officer provides administrative support and is responsible for information management. S/he acts also as a reference person for written protocols, correspondence and standard tools in Yola sub-delegation and offices (Biu and Mubi).

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Makes an active contribution to support and implement all projects or programs linked to information management. 
  • Actively takes part in any new IM tool deployment in the delegation. Works with the Executive Assistant and IM Officer (EAIMO) in organizing training sessions, information dissemination and preparing training materials. 
  • Ensures that all electronic documents sent to the sub-delegation team box and all paper documents received at the IM and Support Office is shared with the concerned staff members.
  • Draws up procedures to govern the transfer of information between sites (Sub-delegation/Offices); in charge of making out/sending/reception of bordereaux
  • Briefs systematically newcomers on Information Management, ICRC protocol, procedures and tools.
  • Supports and trains all staff on Information Management and above-mentioned subjects. Ensures compliance with rules and procedures.
  • Proactively updates him/herself on the training materials, and acts as a focal point for providing training and relaying information. 
  • Explains, applies and ensures application of the procedures for archiving of electronic and paper documents with the IM focal points.
  • Screens, prioritizes, dispatches and follows up on requests, calls and correspondence.
  • Drafts formal and informal non-confidential correspondence for the signature of the management.
  • Updates tables, management contact lists and charts, schedule and other tools.
  • Carries out secretarial tasks such as making photocopies, scans, destruction of documents/archives, etc.
  • Assists direct supervisor in organizing meetings between the ICRC and with external contacts. 
  • Visit to offices Biu and Mubi at least twice a year. 

Education and Experience Required

  • University degree
  • 3 – 5 Years as an assistant in an International Organization/Company
  • Excellent command of English and Hausa is required. 
  • Knowledge of Fulani and other local languages is an asset.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint, IBM Lotus Notes and other web-based solutions.

  • SALARY RANGE (Gross) – 397,700 – 437,500
