Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychoeducation sessions to raise awareness among MSF staff about mental health and well-being at work
  • Provide individual psychological support to staff members according to MSF protocols to improve their mental health status
  • Provide group psychosocial support to staff members according to MSF protocols to improve their mental health status
  • Provide training to staff on various mental health topics that contribute to a better understanding of staff needs for psychosocial support and coping mechanisms
  • Map external mental health resources for reference
  • Refer staff members to other professionals if necessary: staff health manager, general practitioner, psychotherapist, psychiatrist, etc.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of all personnel data
  • Collect and track data on individual and group activities and ensure reporting to the PRM/medical coordinator/staff health manager
  • Collaborate with other staff health profiles as needed + inform about individual cases requiring specialized care
  • As appropriate, share overall staff issues requiring attention with the coordination team
  • Actively participate in training, supervision/interactions with other colleagues in charge of staff support. Discuss with the supervisor any difficulties and problems that arise during support sessions
  • Organize prevention activities in place of the mental health and well-being of MSF staff working in Katsina and Jahun projects
  • Identify workplace stressors and their management
  • Offer psychological trough individual and/or group support to MSF staff
  • Organise training on specific topics related to psychosocial risks
  • Participate in clinical supervision on a weekly basis with the support of the regional psychologist
  • In collaboration with the PSU Dakar, define the referencing criteria
  • Strengthening the capacity of caregivers on the PFA
  • In collaboration with PSU Dakar, participate in the management of critical incidents on the mission
  • Maintaining professional secret and confidentiality
  • Do monthly sitreps
  • Participate in data analysis and weekly, monthly and annual narrative reports.
