BACKGROUND OF THE ORGANISATION:

POSITION: Program Officer

No. OF PERSON(S) REQUIRED:   One (1)

DURATION:   6 month with possibilities of extension

LOCATION: Maiduguri with possibilities of Travels to

POSSIBLE START DATE: Immediately

EMPLOYMENT TYPE:  Contract 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Program Manager in developing new project proposals.
  • Assist with providing and coordinating inputs for information requests from the Office, other PACHE missions and external partners, such as donors, partner agencies, implementing partners, etc.
  • Initiate the development and implementation of the communication and advocacy strategy.
  • Serve as a focal point for internal and external communication flows.
  • Maintain Communication within the Office as well as outside partners for information sharing and dissemination.
  • Ensure that project information is regularly updated on the PACHE website and ensure timely coordination of communications with donors and national stakeholder
  • Assist the programme and project managers in ensuring appropriate visibility of the project donors.
  • Based on the information gathered from Program Managers within the PACHE mission, regularly update PACHE social media tools.
  • Produce/edit short video documentaries and write press notes with accompanying photographs of PACHE activities.
  • Maintain and carry-out periodic updates to PACHE project fact sheets.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree any relevant field;
  • At least 1 years of working experience in a similar position with local or International NGO;
  • Be able to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities;

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Competency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint;
  • Very good English written communications skills including the ability to prepare reports;
  • Good knowledge of English, Hausa and Local community languages;
  • Team player and ability to multi-task;
  • Ability to meet deadlines and cope with pressing timelines;
  • Problem solving and basic counselling skills
  • Stress & Time management skills
