Restoration of Hope Initiative (ROHI) is a national Non-Governmental Organization based in Yola with a field office in Mubi, Adamawa State and Maiduguri Borno State. 

ROHI in partnership with PLAN International is implementing an 18-month protection intervention, focusing on SRHR and GBV prevention and response, including Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) to improve access to quality lifesaving SRHR and well-coordinated protection of adolescents and women at risk of GBV, through comprehensive case management, context specific information sharing with the support of the School Based Management Committee (SBMC) and enhanced Psychosocial Support (PSS) mechanisms in Adamawa State (Yola North, Yola South, Girei and Lamourde LGAs). 

ROHI is currently seeking qualified candidates for the positions of:

M&E ASSISTANT

Location: Yola

The Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant, will:  

  • Support the capture of program M&E plans to capture project performance and results, including data reporting, assessments, and all monitoring and evaluation activities.
  • Support the development of data flow pattern for project that will ensure timely data collection and reporting.
  • Ensure high-quality implementation, in close collaboration with the M&E Officer.
  • Utilize the data collected to inform strategic decision-making and project planning.  
  • Support targeted evaluations and operations research, including design, data collection, management, and analysis.  
  • Ensure quality of data through data verification procedures, including routine data quality audits.  
  • Support to ensure that relevant data (5Ws) are entered into organization-wide data management system designed to capture, analyze, and disseminate project data.
  • Collect and authenticate all information sheets (beneficiary lists, registration forms, distribution lists, and others) for delivery of education and psychosocial support intervention services.
  • Assist in routine data collection and entry for various interventions implemented in the field and ensure that complete, accurate, clean, and consistent data is shared with the M&E Officer for data analysis and action planning.
  • Ensure proper filing of M&E documents including questionnaires, monitoring reports, datasets among others.  

Participate in regular data verification and audit exercises to assess the quality of data reported and address any anomalies identified.  

  • Submit to the M&E Officer weekly and monthly updates on M& E activities conducted in the field.
  • With support from the M&E Officer, participate capacity building and mentorship activities for field staff in data collection and cleaning.  
  • Keep the M&E database up to date and help program staff prepare periodic high-quality reports.  
  • Assist program staff during survey planning and implementation especially preparing logistics needed, participating in data collection and cleaning.  
  • Foster good relationships and team spirit with program and operations staff in the field.  
  • Perform any other M&E tasks assigned by the M&E Officer or his/her supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, computer science or relevant studies and minimum of 1- year of work experience in monitoring and evaluating humanitarian emergency response programs, with an organization with a robust M&E component.
  • Proven expertise in quantitative and qualitative methodologies, research, reporting, data quality assessments, data analysis and presentation.
  • Demonstrated strong management, coordination, teamwork, and planning skills.
  • Strong understanding of M&E, policy, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English including excellent facilitation skills and demonstrated technical writing skills for publication.
  • Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines, and intense pressure to perform.
  • Strong technical skills, including ability to process and analyze data using one or more statistical software packages.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages (Excel/Word document).
