Nigeria’s goal is to meet the needs of underserved Nigerians and dramatically improve access and use
of a range of reproductive health services.
MSI Nigeria Reproductive Choices is part of Marie Stopes International’s Global Partnership which is in
over 37 countries worldwide and it operates in Nigeria through six service delivery channels.

POSITION: INFECTION PREVENTION OFFICER
LOCATION: NIGER & ONDO STATE
OBJECTIVES:


The Infection Prevention Officer at MSI Nigeria Reproductive Choices plays a crucial role in maintaining
a clean and safe environment for reproductive health services. This role involves ensuring the tidiness
and cleanliness of the office, client care areas, and medical equipment, as well as proper waste
management. The Infection Prevention Officer also supports the clinical team in delivering infection
prevention training, sterilizing instruments, and assisting with administrative tasks.


OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:


o Keeping the entire office, its surroundings, client care areas and all used medical equipment
tidy, neat, and clean always.
o Encourage a commitment to accommodating clients’ special needs such as flexibility on
working hours, strict privacy, and confidentiality to generate demand for MSION services.
o Ensure proper management and disposal of both general and medical waste.
o Assist the clinical team in providing approved services trained on infection prevention.
o Assist with maintaining medical stock/a drug inventory and ordering register.
o Ensure all clinical Instruments are washed, sterilised, and stored properly.
o Ensure all the drapes are properly washed and stored.
o Run errands including banking of daily income for the teams when appropriate.
o Promote and maintain a welcoming, friendly, professional, and efficient atmosphere towards all
clients at all times.
o Carry out any other lawful duties assigned by the outreach Team Leader.
o Assist with administrative work within limits when necessary.
o Conducts monthly or bi-monthly supportive supervision, coaching and mentoring of all trained
providers based on needs.
o Track referral to and from the Contact Center.
o Prompt submission of monthly and quarterly reports.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


o Must have at least basic education to be able to read and write English.
o Organization, initiative, tidiness, and courtesy.
o English and local languages
o Capacity to work as a team member.
o At least 2 years’ experience working in a similar role {Essential}
o Experience of working in a clinical environment {Essential}
o Excellent provider of client- interaction skill {Essential}
o Good written and verbal communication skill {Desirable}
o Articulate and analytical with attention to detail {Essential
