Job Title: Consultant – Board of Trustees (BoT) Leadership Training

Job Summary
- We are seeking a qualified consultant to deliver a structured leadership and governance training for its Board of Trustees (BoT). This aims to enhance board effectiveness in oversight, strategy, compliance, and resource mobilization.
Objective of the Assignment
- To design and deliver a Leadership and Governance Training tailored for GREENCODE’s Board of Trustees, focusing on strategic leadership, organizational governance, legal responsibilities, donor compliance, and strategic partnerships/resource mobilization.
Scope of Work
The consultant will:
- Conduct a rapid capacity needs assessment for the BoT
- Design a participatory training agenda and materials (PowerPoints, handouts, tools)
- Facilitate a 2-day in-person leadership and governance workshop
- Cover key modules such as:
- Roles and responsibilities of BoT in NGOs
- Strategic leadership and decision-making
- Board-Management relationship
- Legal and compliance obligations
- Accountability, transparency, and ethical leadership
- Donor compliance and resource mobilization strategies
- Submit a final training report with recommendations for sustained governance strengthening.

Timeframe:
5 working days:
- 1 day: Preparation and needs analysis
- 2 days: Training delivery
- 1 day: Post-training evaluation
- 1 day: Final report writing and submission.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Advanced Degree in Organizational Leadership, Governance, Public Administration, or related fields
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience delivering training on NGO governance and board development
- In-depth knowledge of board responsibilities and legal frameworks applicable to NGOs in Nigeria
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with donor-funded program contexts is an added advantage.
Key Competencies:
- Strategic thinking and board-level communication
- Strong presentation and adult learning design skills
- Sensitivity to organizational dynamics and confidentiality
- Fluency in English; ability to deliver complex content in simplified terms.
