Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Socio-Economic Officer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will lead socio- economic empowerment initiatives for women and girls with disabilities, focusing on enhancing their independence, safety, and economic opportunities. The role will involve planning, implementing, and monitoring programs that foster inclusion, build capacity, and create sustainable livelihoods.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement socio-economic programs to empower women and girls with disabilities in Michika and Madagali LGAs.
• Facilitate vocational training, financial literacy workshops, and entrepreneurship development sessions.
• Conduct community engagement activities to promote inclusion and awareness of disability rights.
• Collaborate with local stakeholders to enhance access to financial resources, assistive devices, and mentorship opportunities.
• Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, government agencies, and partner organizations.
• Identify and mitigate risks to ensure the safety and inclusion of all program participants.

Qualifications and Experience
• A degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in socio-economic development, community engagement, or a related role.
• Proven track record of working with vulnerable groups, particularly women and persons with disabilities.
• Strong understanding of gender equality, disability inclusion, and human rights.
• Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Hausa and English languages; knowledge of local languages in Michika and Madagali is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with the socio-economic challenges in Adamawa State and commitment to community development.
