Center for Advocacy, Transparency and Accountability Initiative (CATAI) is established in 2018 is registered as an NGO with Head Office in Maiduguri – Borno State. We have been visible in Borno Adamawa and Yobe states implementing projects in protection, community empowerment, livelihood, environment, health, peace building, education and governance. We are currently implementing the ECW-MYRP Project in a consortium with Grow Strong Foundation, Goalprime Organisation of Nigeria and Restoration of Hope Initiative (ROHI) as Lead and a project with International Alert. Our approach is aligned with our mission to enhance services delivery and empower citizens envisioning a world where people in the most remote areas of the globe can have access to the basic needs of life. POSITION(S): Income Generating Assistant (IGA)
NUMBER REQUIRED: Four (4)
REPORTS TO: Income Generating Officer
SUPERVISES: Community Volunteers

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
The position is full-time contract and community-based. This position will work with the CATAI’s project team to Establish and strengthen conflict-sensitive lifesaving services for survivors Build girls’ and women’s safety and resilience
with a focus on enhancing the capacities of rural households particularly women in the project area to diversify and generate incomes. The IGA is expected to support the project team to implement access to finance and income generation program activities. S/he is required to have an educational background and experience in integrated development programs with a focus on household income generation and the formation and management of Village/Rural Savings and Loans Associations. Have strong communication and report writing skills. Possess values such as teamwork, equality, and strong work ethics. The position is full-time and community-based.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position will have the following responsibilities:
• S/he will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of Income Generating Activities and monitoring the beneficiaries’ progress and reporting to Income Generating Officer.
• Establish and maintain Community-based Mechanisms (CBMs) in the project locations.
• Support the IGO to collaborate with the GBV and Child Protection (CP) sub-sectors to map and update the existing referral pathways to ensure timely responses for survivors.
• Work in collaboration with other CATAI staff/Officers as delegated or directed by the Income Generating Officer (IGO) in the delivery of tasks.
• Conduct outreach activities in new and existing project communities to familiarize them with the project and disseminate information on specific activities linked to the project’s objectives.
• Support and monitor the activities of community members engaged in household income-generation activities.
• Conduct rigorous and continuous data collection on required data points, and provide final data to the IGO and M&E team.
• Communicate any challenges observed on time about program activities and outreach, to the IGO.
• Participate in training and activities organized by CATAI and its partners in support of the provision of services to the beneficiaries of the project, as requested.
• Support relevant community structures, stakeholders and volunteers in the delivery of project activities.
• Ensure daily attendance of beneficiaries are well captured
• Exhibit and stay committed to the CATAI’s Code of Conducts, Policies, and Values such as procedures such as transparency, integrity, Result-Based in ensuring sustainability and accountability to all partners, and monitoring to learn and improve.
• Perform any other related duties as requested.

REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCES, TECHNICAL SKILLS AND LANGUAGE COMPETENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in any field of study.
• A minimum of 1-2 Years of experience implementing relevant rural development programs in communities, particularly in Northern-Eastern Nigeria.
• Strong familiarity with CBM, GBV, PSEA and working with local communities and programs are highly preferred.
• Strong facilitation skills, familiarity with training-of-trainer (ToT) approaches and methodologies.
• Experience in community Mobilisation and/or women and youth outreaches programs.
• Demonstrate competency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Very good presentation and writing skills.
• Very good interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Fluency in English Language both written and spoken is required, Kanuri and Hausa language is mandatory
• Open only to Nigerian Nationals.
