ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

Zenith Of the Girl Child and Women Initiative Support is a leading girls and women’s rights organization that promotes gender equality, reaching the most vulnerable, and promoting meaningful inclusion. The organization is a registered non-profit, non-governmental female/youth-led organization that aims to prevent and protect women and girls against all forms of gender-based violence, abuse, and discrimination. Zenith of the Girl Child and Women Initiative Support advocates and influence policies in favor of women and girls.

ZEGCAWIS create awareness and sensitize communities on the Sexual and reproductive Health rights, prevention of sexual and all forms of gender-based violence information and response services. ZEGCAWIS has been in existence since 2016, it became officially registered with cooperate affairs commission in Nigeria 2018.

Working together with Relevant stake holders, women, young people, supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, where women and girls as well children’s Right will be protected and supported, a world where everyone will have equal access to opportunities, economic empowerment and be treated with respect and dignity irrespective of their sex, gender, Race and religion differences.

COMMUNICATIONS INTERN

Position: Communications Intern

Reports to: Communications and Partnership Coordinator

Location: This position is based in Maiduguri

Duration of assignment

Expected travel: N/A.

SCOPE OF WORK:

The Communications Intern will be responsible for assigned communications Roles including supporting the execution of the organisation’s communications Strategy, social media strategy, managing organisation’s prioritised social media Channels – including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube and LinkedIn. He/she will liaise with the Communications Coordinator in providing support for the Different thematic functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support and participate in all inter-thematic policy advocacy and campaign initiatives
  • Work with the Communications Coordinator on all Zegcawis online activities
  • Work on seamless linkages of the organisation’s social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube LinkedIn and other social media platforms), ensuring uniform content and tone of voice for landing pages, graphics, and other elements
  • Monitoring and replying to communications on the platforms under the guidance of Communications Coordinator.
  • Posting information, uploading photos and videos on the platforms daily or as is directed by Communications Coordinator.
  • Work with relevant teams and projects’ leads to implement other channel-specific campaigns (e.g. uploading photos to Flickr, videos to

YouTube, etc)

  • Perform any other assigned responsibilities as it relates to the

Minimum Requirements:

  • Knowledge of social media and platforms
  • Good English communication skills, oral and written.
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English,
  • Ability to develop and manage professional relations, with outstanding interpersonal and coordination skills.
  • Proven planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills.
  • Result-oriented and able to deliver within deadlines.
  • Willing to work overtime, holidays and weekends as requested by management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Software (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.)
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and tasks.

Education

  • Mass Communication or any relevant field.
  • Content production; video, graphics design and photography experience is essential
