About CAARI
The Climate Awareness Advocacy and Resilience Initiative (CAARI) is a grassroots nonprofit organization committed to addressing climate change, promoting child protection, gender equality, peacebuilding, and community resilience—particularly in conflict-affected regions. Though currently unfunded, CAARI provides a meaningful platform for passionate volunteers to grow professionally and make a lasting impact.
Role Overview
CAARI is recruiting Volunteer Child Protection/GBV Case Workers in selected LGAs of Yobe State. Volunteers will work closely with community stakeholders to protect vulnerable children, respond to gender-based violence (GBV) cases, and strengthen local systems that foster safer, more resilient communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and document cases of child abuse, neglect, or gender-based violence.
- Provide basic psychosocial support and refer survivors to appropriate services.
- Conduct community sensitization sessions on child protection and GBV prevention.
- Collaborate with schools, families, and traditional leaders to promote child safety and gender equity.
- Monitor and report emerging protection risks affecting women and children.
Requirements & Competencies
- Minimum of two years of experience in case management using child protection or GBV minimum standards.
- Passion for child protection, gender equity, and community development.
- Must be a resident of the LGA of application.
- Basic knowledge of GBV response or case management (training will be provided).
- Strong communication skills in Hausa, Kanuri, or Fulfulde (English is an added advantage).
- Basic climate awareness or training certificate is an added advantage.
