Position: Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) and Data Entry Officer
Location: Maiduguri, Nigeria (with field visits to other locations)
Duration: 6 Months, Start Date: ASAP

About The MENTOR Initiative
The MENTOR Initiative, a specialist tropical disease control INGO, partners with the Borno State Ministry of Health to enhance lifesaving health services, focusing on disease prevention and control for vulnerable communities in Borno State. We are currently seeking an experienced M&E and Data Entry Officer to join our Emergency Response Program, based in Maiduguri/Jere.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection and Quality Control
- Ensure timely collection, verification, and computerization of program data from prevention and medical teams.
- Conduct population sampling, surveys, and data compilation for baseline and end-line assessments.
- Organize and archive data (both soft and hard copies) for clarity and cross-check accuracy.
- Regularly monitor, clean, and verify data from field locations.
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
- Use MENTOR’s M&E checklists and tools to monitor IEC/BCC campaign activities and field initiatives.
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of databases and update M&E plans as needed.
- Collect epidemiological data from MoH/WHO to assess the impact of IRS in target locations.
Reporting and Documentation
- Support the preparation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, sharing data regularly with the Program Coordinator and Country Director.
- Provide timely data for both internal and external reporting needs.
Project Support and Representation
- Assist Medical and Prevention Officers in implementing project activities.
- Provide logistical and administrative support as requested.
- Serve as the organization’s representative in engagements with local authorities and partners.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Minimum HND in Computer Science, Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in data collection and M&E framework development, preferably in an INGO setting.
- Language: Fluency in English and Kanuri is required; knowledge of Hausa is an advantage.
- Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and team collaboration skills; proficiency in data entry and management.

- Flexibility: As this is a humanitarian aid role, some weekend work may be required. Reasonable additional duties may be assigned to support overall program goals.
