Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi) is an indigenous non-governmental organization that promotes socio-economic development by supporting a broad range of global health programs, education, research, and livelihoods initiatives in Nigeria. In anticipation of a potential award from USAID on the Accelerating Control of the HIV Epidemic in Nigeria (ACE) with focus on the BAY (Borno, Adamawa, Yobe) states, the following positions are open for consideration to all qualified candidates. AHNi currently has its headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria..

Senior Technical Officer-Total Quality Leadership & Accountability (TQLA), Quality Improvement (QI) & DSD: will design, develop and coordinate quality improvement initiatives in the delivery of HIV/TB care and treatment. The STO-TQLA QI &DSD will work with various multidisciplinary teams along the HIV continuum of care in facility and community settings, using TQLA and QI methodology, tools and techniques to ensure continuous improvement in the Quality of care (QoC) provided under the the ACE project. S/he will support the articulation, collation and dissemination of QoC standards to facility and community service providers across the HIV prevention, treatment and care services. In collaboration with relevant stakeholders and using a team-based approach, prioritize, design and implement practical, sustainable and supportive supervision, capacity building and other relevant quality improvement processes for the project’s HIV treatment efforts at the state-supported facilities and community teams. Plan, design and implement specific QA/QI initiatives and monitor its effect on process, outcome and possible impact variables. Participate in the development of strategy documents, work plans and report. Contribute to the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning system. S/he will shadow the FHI360 TQLA team to better understand the theoretical and practical underpinning of the concept.

Minimum Recruitment Standards

  • MBBS or a relevant degree with 5 to 6 years of progressive relevant experience in clinical care with a sound understanding of HIV/AIDS with provision of PMTCT and anti-retroviral therapy (ART) in resource constrained settings.
  • Possession of an MSc/MA/MPH or post graduate degree in a related field is required.
  • Experience in design and implementation of QoC models
  • Experience in project development with proven experience in the planning and facilitation of training is required.
