Job title: Re-integration Officer
Reporting to: Project Manager
Salary Scale: N150, 000 to N210, 000 Gross

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

As the Re-Integration Officer, the Employee will be a member of the GSF Technical Support and Capacity Building Program Team. The Employee’s responsibilities are specified in the following specific job description. The Re-integration officer will contribute to Reintegration and Protection efforts of children formally associated with armed groups  and other vulnerable children to promote a community based and comprehensive approach towards protection and advocacy and facilitation for expanding delivery of GSF protection services to hard-to-reach areas and laying the ground for return and reintegration of CAAFAGs and other vulnerable children in close coordination with other humanitarian and protection partners to ensure concerted effort and alliance of plans and priorities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSILITIES.

The Employee’s specific responsibilities are established through the Employee’s job description, and through periodic and annual reviews of the Employee’s scope of work. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Lead the implementation of social and economic reintegration for Conflict affected children and monitoring, planning, implementation and management of the reintegration (UNICEF) grant, prepare donor reports, develop concept notes, works plan for the reintegration grants.
  • Work with partners to ensure better reintegration of children who were associated with None State Armed Groups (NSAG) and other vulnerable children including girls and women who have suffered conflict related sexual violence, through the provision of individual psychosocial support, empowerment/livelihoods, peer group support, family tracing, reunification and reconciliation, and community dialogue to promote return, acceptance and reintegration.
  • Work with State government ministries and other actors to implement community based social and economic reintegration strategy for children associated with armed groups including survivors of conflict related sexual violence and other vulnerable Children.
  • Support the development of community-based reintegration activities for affected children including girls and women with the support of GBV officer.
  • In close collaboration with the Information Management Team and Officers ensure robust data collection to capture the number of beneficiaries reached by the programme and the impact of the programme, including management of the evaluation of the programme.
  • Facilitate the training of and ongoing support for state and non-state actors, including community volunteers and animators, on the reintegration of Children Associated with Armed Groups (CAAFAG).
  • Facilitate the training of military and security personnel on child protection and engage in advocacy on the handover of children from military authorities to civilian authorities.
  • Manage the children associated with armed groups programme, including ensuring timely implementation of activities, timely reporting to the donors, compliance with visibility requirements and compliance with internal GSF and donor procedures and processes.
