Zenith of the Girl Child and Women Initiative Support is a leading girls and women’s rights organization, which promotes gender equality, reaching the most vulnerable, and promoting meaningful inclusion. The organization is a registered non-profit, non-governmental female/youth-led organization that aims to preventing and protecting women and girls against all forms of gender-based violence, abuse, and discrimination. Zenith of the Girl Child and Women Initiative Support advocates and influence policies in favor of women and girls. ZEGCAWIS create awareness and sensitize communities on the Sexual and reproductive Health rights, prevention of sexual and all forms of gender-based violence information and response services. ZEGCAWIS has been in existence since 2016, it became officially registered with cooperate affairs commission in Nigeria 2018.

Working together with Relevant stake holders,  women, young people, supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, where women and girls as well children’s Right will be protected and supported, a world where everyone will have equal access to opportunities, economic empowerment and be treated with respect and dignity irrespective of their sex,  gender, Race and religion differences 

We are looking for passionate, experienced and dedicated professionals for our G2L project in partnership with Care International (Care Nigeria) in Borno State 

JOB TITILE: Project manager  
CONTRACT DURATION: 8 months.  
LOCATION: MMC, JERE and KONDUGA  
PROJECT: G2L  
 

JOB SUMMARY

The Project Manager (G2L) is to coordinate the activities of G2L projects and ensure quality implementation of the program, monitoring and evaluation of Gender Based violence and sexual and reproductive health activities in the implementing locations and supported health care facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Job Responsibility #1: Staff Management  

•Effectively supervise all direct reports in the performance of their duties

•Ensure the proper implementation of ZEGCAWIS’s performance management system for direct reports, including job description and annual performance objectives development, regular feedback, mid-term reviews and annual performance appraisals.

•Proactively address performance issues through regular, constructive and honest feedback and coaching.

•Identify necessary staff development and career development opportunities for direct reports.

Ensure levels of authority and responsibility are clearly defined, understood and followed by direct reports.

•Ensure that direct report work is guided by CARE’s core value commitment.

% of Time:  20%      

Job Responsibility #2: Quality Controls and Assurance

•Make regular assessments of the clinical competencies of the forms providers and develop coaching plans for the non-proficient providers.

•Ensure that the best practices identified during the analysis of the results, during the supervisory and exchange meetings, are disseminated and applied in all the health care facilities supported by G2L project

•Document all aspects of patient care and maintain accurate and complete medical records

•Ensure that complete and up to date patient records are maintained by the clinic

•Ensure that systems for keeping patient/client and other relevant records are well maintained

•Prepare and submit reports for the clinic in line with established procedures

•Ensure that reports and returns are submitted to the management and relevant government authorities as stipulated in the regulations and policies

% of Time:  20%       

Job Responsibility #3: Monitoring and Learning

•Ensure the regular collection of data in the supported facilities, compile in the database clinical data and analysis of the data collected in order to make recommendations to the supported health structures and the Project Manager

•Participate in monthly tripartite meetings bringing together service providers, community facilitators, ZEGCAWIS staffs and Partner and the Health District to analyze the data, identify the difficulties encountered and help them find solutions

•Contribute to the preparation of assessment and monitoring missions

•Supports monitoring and evaluation initiatives at selected facilities/communities including submission of monthly scorecards and quarterly reports

•Maintain and use strong monitoring systems to track and report on activities and results to support effective delivery of clinical care services

•Periodically review performance metrics with the Monitoring & Evaluation officer and employ use of data for decision making that promotes high quality clinical care services

•Facilitate documentation and dissemination of appropriate case studies, experiences, best practice and lessons

•Encourage sharing of learning and experience with the team, across the organization and with like-minded/peer organizations

% of Time: 25%

Job Responsibility #4: Project Implementation

Coordinate project team planning activities, including the development of annual, semi-annual and quarterly work plans.

% of Time:  15%

% of Time:  20%       

Job Responsibility #5:  Perform other duties as assigned

Not limited only to:

•Participate in the development of new projects

•Participate in the development of budgets and expenditure plans.

•Assist in providing operational management and technical support to other smaller GBV/SRHR initiatives

Carry out any other duties and responsibilities which may be assigned by the management from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/ Training:

• Midwife or MPH

•Post-graduate training in public health is an asset (University Degree)

•DMU / SR Training, Family Planning and Post-Abortion Care is an asset

•Training in project planning, monitoring and evaluation is an asset

Experience required

•4-5 years’ experience in clinical medical practice

•Previous experience in reproductive health is an asset

•Previous experience in supporting health structures is an asset

•Experience working for refugees and / or displaced populations in an NGO is desirable.

Knowledge and skills

•Mastery of national R & D policy

•Mastery of the following computer tools: world, Excel, PowerPoint, internet

•Ability to plan training sessions, provide formative supervision, monitoring and evaluation of medical activities

•Ability to ensure quality data collection, compile and analyze data to formulate relevant recommendations

•Ability to write quality reports in English  and submit them on time

•Disciplined, organized, respect for deadlines, adaptation in a multicultural working environment, tolerance, respect for ZEGCAWIS’s core values and gender.
