Restoration of Hope Initiative (ROHI) is a national Non-Governmental Organization based in Yola with a field office in Mubi, Adamawa State and Maiduguri Borno State. 

ROHI in partnership with PLAN International is implementing an 18-month protection intervention, focusing on SRHR and GBV prevention and response, including Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) to improve access to quality lifesaving SRHR and well-coordinated protection of adolescents and women at risk of GBV, through comprehensive case management, context specific information sharing with the support of the School Based Management Committee (SBMC) and enhanced Psychosocial Support (PSS) mechanisms in Adamawa State (Yola North, Yola South, Girei and Lamourde LGAs). 

ROHI is currently seeking qualified candidates for the positions of:

PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Location: Yola

Is responsible for the project management. The program coordinator will coordinate in the field of personnel and implementation of the project activities and lead the coordination with partners and with Plan International. 

Key responsibilities  

  • Supplement and guide the facilitation of practical planning and the establishment of the protection programming in line with government regulations, and donor requirements.
  • Manage interactions with stakeholders, primarily with relevant government departments, donors and collaborating agencies, by representing the program in relevant collaborative mechanisms and ensuring the dissemination of program information, achievements and lesson learned as well as the active participation in policy discourse and advocacy activities.
  • Draft all necessary reports such as progress reports, yearly reports and/or donor reports.
  • Coordinate donor visits, evaluations, and program reviews, as instructed.
  • Actively participate and contribute to the protection working group and other sub-sectoral meetings.
  • Ensure that project expenditure is undertaken and is aligned with finance practices and procedures, and that resources are efficiently utilized. 
  • Oversee budgets and financial organization by ensuring that all implemented units have updated spending plans while successfully tracking spending.
  • Oversee finance activity to confirm the best use of resources and work closely with finance units to ensure timely submission of financial and narrative reports to donors.
  • Work with the team to ensure all activities are conducted, prioritized, fulfilled, and monitored in efficient and effective ways, while considering advocacy issues
  • Coach all team members to ensure they fully comprehend results that are expected of them.
  • Ensure team members are aware of core policies and procedures relevant to their work, and with the support of others.
  • In the event of necessities, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
  • Supervise and manage the subordinates, providing them with regular feedback, support and capacity building.
  • Ensure training and capacity building for staff so that they can better implement and monitor activities.
  • Coordinate closely with other project officers and Assistants to ensure the coherence of Project activities.
  • Coordinate with Project staff to ensure the flow of communication in the field and Office.
  • Work with the operations staff, including the Logistics, Administration and Finance departments, to ensure the project is implemented according to ROHI policies and procedures, particularly procurement and use of assets, materials and supplies.

Requirements

  • First Degree/Master’s Degree in relevant field (or equivalent in field experience).
  • At least 3 years’ experience in conflict or post-conflict context.
  • Experience implementing General Protections activities including GBV, MHPSS and education programming or managing economic development or livelihoods programs.
  • Fluency in English, Hausa with excellent computer, report writing and communication skills.
