About the Project

The project, “Comprehensive Approach to Empowering Women and Youth for Social Cohesion and Sustainable Peace in Borno State,” focuses on rebuilding social cohesion and promoting sustainable peace in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC) and Jere Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno State. With targeted interventions in Shuwari, Jiddari Polo, Ngomari, Lamisula, and Maduganari wards, the project aims to address the root causes of violence, weak governance, and socio-economic vulnerabilities. Key activities include human rights training, peace education, economic empowerment, and fostering trust between communities and security forces. The initiative prioritizes including women, youth, and child-headed households, creating a scalable model for conflict resolution and resilience-building in affected regions.

Role Summary:
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will lead developing and implementing a robust M&E framework to ensure the project’s outcomes are achieved. This role involves data collection, analysis, and reporting to guide decision-making and improve project effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive M&E framework aligned with project objectives and donor requirements.
  • Develop tools and methodologies for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Monitor project activities to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct field visits to assess the quality and impact of project interventions.
  • Compile regular reports detailing project performance, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Train project staff and partners on M&E principles and data management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate feedback and improve project outcomes.

Qualifications and Expertise:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • At least 3 years of experience in M&E roles within humanitarian or development projects.
  • Proficiency in M&E tools, data collection software, and statistical analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
