We seek experienced and qualified Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Officers to join our team and strengthen our efforts in delivering impactful, data-driven humanitarian interventions.
Job Summary:
The MEAL Officer will be responsible for ensuring high-quality monitoring, evaluation, and learning of PRIDE Initiative’s humanitarian projects. This role involves developing and implementing MEAL frameworks, ensuring accountability mechanisms are in place, and supporting data-driven decision-making to improve program outcomes. The MEAL Officer will also play a key role in ensuring feedback from affected communities is incorporated into program designs and implementation.
Responsibilities:
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Develop and implement MEAL plans for ongoing projects.
Design and conduct baseline, midline, and endline surveys.
Monitor project activities to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
Collect and analyze data to assess project progress and impact.
Maintain an updated database of all project indicators.
Accountability:
Ensure accountability mechanisms (e.g., feedback and complaint handling systems) are in place.
Facilitate the integration of community feedback into project implementation.
Organize regular learning sessions with staff and stakeholders to review project results and challenges.
Learning and Reporting:
Document and share lessons learned and best practices from the field.
Support the development of project reports, including donor reports and internal learning documents.
Facilitate internal learning and evaluation sessions with project teams.
Capacity Building:
Train field staff and volunteers on data collection, accountability mechanisms, and MEAL tools.
Provide technical support on MEAL to program teams.
Build the capacity of community structures to engage with MEAL processes.
Data Management:
Ensure high-quality data collection, analysis, and storage.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of project achievements and lessons learned.
Maintain a robust database for all MEAL-related information.
Requirements:
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Humanitarian Studies, or related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in MEAL or related field within the humanitarian sector.
Proven experience working with IDPs, refugees, or vulnerable populations in a humanitarian setting.
Desirable Qualifications:
Familiarity with international humanitarian standards such as SPHERE and CHS.
Experience using MEAL software or platforms (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK, or similar).
Knowledge of data analysis tools like SPSS, STATA, or Excel.
Skills:
Strong data collection, analysis, and reporting skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills.
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in local languages (Hausa, Kanuri) and English.
Basic IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
