We are recruiting internally and externally for the position below:
Job Title: Meal Assistant
Location: Yobe State
Duration: 3 months (with possibility of extension)
Objective:
The M&E Assistant will support the M&E Officer and project teams in implementing monitoring and evaluation activities to ensure effective tracking of project progress and outcomes. This role involves assisting with data collection, entry, and analysis, as well as supporting the preparation of reports and documentation of learnings.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Collection Support:
- Assist in the development and distribution of data collection tools, such as surveys and questionnaires.
- Support the collection of quantitative and qualitative data in the field, ensuring high standards of quality and reliability.
- Training of enumerators for data collection
2. Data Management:
- Facilitate data entry and management using M&E databases and software.
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date data records for all projects.
3. Data Analysis and Reporting:
- – Support the M&E Officer in analysing data to identify trends, achievements, and areas for improvement.
- – Help in the preparation of regular M&E reports, including data visualization and presentation of findings.
- Production of factsheets
4. Administrative and Logistical Support:
- – Provide logistical support for M&E activities, including organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
- – Assist with the documentation and filing of M&E documents, ensuring they are accessible and well organized.
5. Learning and Knowledge Sharing:
- – Contribute to the documentation of lessons learned, best practices, and case studies from project implementation.
- – Support the dissemination of M&E findings and learnings within the organization.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Sciences, Statistics, International Development) with a minimum of 1 year experience in relevant field.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation, data collection, or related areas, preferably in the NGO sector.
- Basic knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data collection methods.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel; experience with M&E software is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good report writing skills
- Good communication skills, with proficiency in English and Hausa.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
