Introduction
The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is an international Catholic organization founded in 1980 and now present in some fifty countries. Its mission is to accompany, serve, and defend the rights of refugees and forcibly displaced persons.
JRS works in collaboration with other humanitarian partners to provide quality services, strengthen the dignity of displaced people, and make their voices heard. JRS has been present in Chad since 2006.
Main responsibilities
The Livelihoods Coordinator ensures the overall coordination of the activities of his/her sector, in particular:
- Implementation, monitoring, evaluation of the quality of projects
- Search for funding
- Internal and external coordination
- Operational and technical support for sector integration
- Team Capacity Development
- Sector budget management
Specific responsibilities
1. Design, planning and coordination of the Livelihoods sector:
- Develop and update the sector strategy
- Harmonize and develop tools, SOPs and guidelines
- Support the writing of project proposals
- Identify funding opportunities
- Represent JRS in technical groups
- Strengthening strategic partnerships
2. Monitoring of project implementation:
- Participate in emergency assessments and responses
- Organize market research and socio-economic surveys
- Developing effective monitoring tools
- Supervise field activities and implementation teams
- Provide regular technical feedback
3. Reporting, evaluation, learning and accountability:
- Write weekly, monthly and quarterly reports
- Document lessons learned
- Develop data collection and analysis tools
- Organize biannual reviews
4. Team management and support:
- Identify capacity building needs
- Train and support teams
- Participate in the recruitment of technical staff
- Track performance objectives
Desired profile
Education and experience:
- Minimum 5 years of humanitarian field experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the same position or 7 years as a Livelihoods Project Manager
- Experience with refugees or displaced persons (asset)
- Bac+4 in social sciences, agronomy, education, economics or community development
- Advantage: additional certification in education or project management
Technical skills:
- Knowledge of landlord rules
- Practice of project planning and budget monitoring
- Practice of French and English
- Good command of the Office Pack
- Writing and reporting skills
- Knowledge of socio-economic and educational activities
Personal qualities:

- Sense of responsibility and confidentiality
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Ability to operate in a multicultural environment and under pressure
