Job Description
- We are seeking a skilled and imaginative Comics Graphics Designer to join our creative team. As a Comics Graphics Designer, you will be responsible for creating visually captivating illustrations and graphics for comic books, graphic novels, and related media.
- You will work closely with writers, editors, and other team members to bring stories to life through compelling visuals.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and create original artwork and illustrations for comic book pages, covers, and promotional materials.
- Collaborate with writers and editors to understand the narrative and translate it into visually engaging designs.
- Develop character designs, backgrounds, and environments that fit the style and tone of the story.
- Maintain consistency in character appearances and visual elements throughout the comic series.
- Incorporate feedback and revisions from the creative team to refine artwork and meet project deadlines.
- Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to continuously improve skills and artistic quality.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure project goals and timelines are met.
- Assist with layout and design elements to enhance the overall presentation of the comic.
Requirements
- OND in Graphic Design, Illustration, Fine Arts, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a graphic designer, illustrator, or comics artist, with a strong portfolio showcasing original artwork.
- Proficiency in digital illustration software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Clip Studio Paint.
- Solid understanding of comic book storytelling techniques, including panel layouts, pacing, and visual storytelling.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Passion for comics, graphic novels, and storytelling.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the comics industry or related field.
- Knowledge of comic book publishing processes and industry standards.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling software and digital painting techniques.
- Ability to adapt to different art styles and genres.
- Experience with motion graphics or animation is a plus.
- Experience with Midjourney and image AI tools is an asset as well.
Salary
N80,000 – N150,000 / month.
