The scope of work (SOW) sets forth the services to be provided by the Analyst, IT to
Technical Advice Connect LTD/GTE (TAConnect), a non-profit organization registered
and based in Nigeria to bring innovative solutions to the provision of Technical Assistance
(TA) services to states in Nigeria.
Job Description:
The IT Analyst is responsible for the maintenance of the IT infrastructure through regular
upkeep, security checks, and upgrades to maintain optimal systems and network
performance. He/She will also be responsible for troubleshooting IT issues as they arise
and advise the Specialist, Human Resources & Operations, on how new technologies can
be used to improve and implement activities. He/She will provide IT support the state
teams. He/She will also ensure adherence to TAConnects’ policies and donor regulations
in the states.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Hardware & Software Support

  • Identify software and hardware issues, escalate them, and work to ensure
    resolution.
  • Setup devices (Laptop, phones) and access control for new staff.
  • Set up projectors, printers, photocopiers, digital cameras, etc. for everyday office
    use and as necessary for meetings, etc.
  • Install software applications (Antimalware, Office tools, Adobe, printer etc.) for
    new staff.
  • Ensure that visitors (including staff from other locations), and consultants have the
    necessary IT support to enable them to carry out their official assignments during
    their visits.
  • Perform quarterly preventative maintenance, including checking users’ OneDrive
    to ensure it’s being used and syncing.
  • Prioritize and schedule problems, escalate problems (when required) for further
    resolution.
  • Provide remote support to staff in various state offices.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple helpdesk cases and respond to user requests for
    service, troubleshoot problems and help develop basic solutions.
  • Assist in database management and administration
  • Maintain open communication and positive working relationships with staff and
    service providers
  • Coordinate the roll out of new applications and information technology technical
    procedures
    Asset Management
  • Perform IT hardware and Software Inventory and update these inventories where
    necessary.
  • Communicate to project personnel the proper use of IT system and provide
    training as required
  • Ensure accurate asset management at the office(s) by maintenance an accurate
    and up to date asset register and inventory tracking system, in close collaboration
    with the Compliance Specialist.
  • Ensure all assets (IT and office equipment) is correctly used.
  • Oversee the issuance and return of assets to/from staff and record all asset
    movements and disposals of IT equipment.
    Network Management
  • Identifying and escalating network outages to supervisor and/or the Service
    provider where necessary.
  • Manage the administration of Azure cloud-based server.
  • Identify and escalate network device connection issues e.g. printers, scanners, for
    resolution.
  • Assist in implementing network administration (Users and Groups, Rights
    Assignment, Active Directory (AD) Maintenance, Microsoft SharePoint and
    Dynamic AX, etc.).
  • Monitor systems and network performances.
  • Perform all other tasks assigned by the Specialist, Human Resources; Operations
    and TAConnect Leadership
    Job Qualifications
  • Education: Computer Science, Information Technology or BEng. Computer
    Engineering, or related field. Professional certifications such as CCNA, Network +,
    and MCSE. (Other professional certifications and Masters) are an added advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of work experience, 2 of which must be in IT
    operations in a medium to large development, projects and/or organizations.
  • Experience working for an NGO, company, or donor implementer in Nigeria is
    preferred.
  • Proficiency in Office Suite Application Administration, network systems and
    application administration.
  • Good knowledge of networking technologies and diverse specification of printer
    support
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software problems and
    in research/application and understanding technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows PC’s, Operating Systems, Servers, Printers &
    Mobile devices.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing technology.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and good written and spoken communication skills in
    English, and any other local languages.
    Supervision
    The IT Analyst will report directly to Specialist, Human Resources and Operations.
    Working Conditions/Duration of Assignment
    This is a full-time position, based in Abuja, Nigeria.
