We are committed to empowering community leadership, fostering peace, and promoting the inclusion of marginalized groups, especially people with disabilities (PWDs).

Workshop Overview

HARAF seeks a qualified consultant to design, facilitate, and deliver a Community Leadership Workshop focusing on:

1. Leadership Skills
2. Peacebuilding
3. Inclusion of People with Disabilities

This workshop aims to strengthen leadership, promote social cohesion, and ensure inclusive decision-making processes. Targeting at least 100 participants from Gombi and Hong LGAs, the 3-day sessions will engage community leaders, activists, and stakeholders.

Workshop Objectives

1. Develop Leadership Skills:
   Equip participants with essential skills in communication, conflict resolution, decision-making, and team management.
2. Promote Peacebuilding:
   Strengthen capacities for conflict resolution, reconciliation, and fostering social cohesion in diverse communities.
3. Advance Disability Inclusion:
   Enhance understanding and ensure active participation of people with disabilities in community leadership and peacebuilding processes.

Scope of Work

The consultant will:

1. Design a Comprehensive Curriculum covering:
   • Leadership skills (e.g., strategic planning, team-building)
   • Peacebuilding and conflict resolution
   • Disability awareness and inclusion strategies
2. Facilitate Interactive Workshops:
   • Use participatory methods such as discussions, role-playing, and case studies.
   • Ensure inclusivity, including accommodations like sign language interpretation and accessible materials.
3. Submit a Post-Workshop Report:
   • Summarize content, outcomes, and feedback.
   • Provide recommendations for future initiatives and sustained disability inclusion strategies.

Deliverables

1. Workshop Curriculum and Materials:
   • Detailed agenda with session breakdowns.
   • Inclusive training materials (e.g., presentations, handouts).
2. Facilitated Workshops:
   • Successfully conduct workshops with active participation and measurable learning outcomes.
3. Comprehensive Workshop Report:
   • Summarize methodologies, outcomes, and participant feedback.
   • Provide actionable recommendations.
4. Optional Follow-Up Plan:
   • Strategy to support participants in applying workshop learnings.

Qualifications and Experience

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in a relevant field (e.g., community development, peacebuilding, disability studies).
• Certifications in leadership training or facilitation (preferred).

Experience:

• At least 5 years in community leadership, peacebuilding, or disability-inclusive development.
• Proven track record of participatory workshop design and delivery.
• Familiarity with community dynamics in conflict-prone or marginalized areas.
• Experience in monitoring and evaluating training programs.

Skills:

• Strong facilitation and communication abilities.
• Adaptability to diverse participant needs.
• Fluency in English and Hausa.
