Grow Strong Foundation (GSF) is a child-focused, women and youth-led non-profit organization established in 2017. GSF is providing humanitarian assistance to Children, IDPs, and other highly vulnerable individuals in collaboration with NHF, UNICEF, and Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in Northeastern Nigeria. As part of our commitment to achieving the objectives of our strategic plan, GSF is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the vacant position.
Location: GSF HQ, with oversight of field offices in Borno and Yobe State
Reports to: MEAL Manager
Purpose of the Role
The ICT Officer will manage Grow Strong Foundation’s information and communication technology systems, ensuring reliable connectivity, secure data management, and effective use of digital tools to support program delivery. The role provides technical support, maintains hardware and software, and ensures compliance with organizational and donor ICT standards.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and networks.
- Ensure reliable internet connectivity and troubleshoot network issues.
- Manage user accounts, email systems, and access rights.
Data Management & Security
- Implement data backup and recovery procedures.
- Ensure compliance with data protection policies and donor requirements.
- Monitor system security, including antivirus updates and firewall management.
- Train staff on cybersecurity awareness and safe ICT practices.
Technical Support
- Provide first‑line ICT support to staff at HQ and field offices.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems promptly.
- Support the use of digital tools for program monitoring, reporting, and communication.
ICT Planning & Innovation
- Contribute to ICT strategy development and digital transformation initiatives.
- Research and recommend new technologies to improve efficiency.
- Maintain an inventory of ICT equipment and oversee maintenance schedules.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in ICT support or systems administration, preferably in NGO/humanitarian settings.
- Strong knowledge of networking, hardware maintenance, and software applications.
- Familiarity with data protection standards and ICT security protocols.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to train and support non‑technical staff.
- High integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
