About us

More than half the world lives in poverty. Poverty is an outrage against humanity. It robs people of dignity, freedom and hope, of power over their own lives. Christian Aid has a vision – to eradicating extreme poverty, dismantling its root causes across the world, and enabling the voice and agency of the poor and marginalised to be fully realised – and we believe that vision can become a reality. We are striving to bring lasting change to the lives of the poorest and marginalised communities. We work wherever there is great need, helping people to find their own solutions to the problems they face, irrespective of their religion, caste or creed.

Humanitarian work is central to Christian Aid’s mission. Responding to the urgent needs of crisis-affected communities and giving them the means to stand on their own feet is exactly why Christian Aid was created.
