It has achieved a lot in the areas of promoting and improving healthy living standards, footing the medical bills of those who need it and rehabilitating patients back into the larger society.

Job Title: Financial Officer (Experienced in Healthcare / Development)
Location: Owerri, Imo
Position Overview
- As the Financial Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of our organization.
- Drawing upon your expertise in financial management and healthcare/nonprofit finance, you will oversee budgeting, financial reporting, grant management, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Prepare and monitor annual budgets, working closely with department heads and program managers to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making and strategic planning initiatives.
- Manage grant funding, including proposal development, budgeting, reporting, and compliance monitoring.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions.
- Conduct regular financial reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure transparency and accountability.
- Collaborate with external auditors, government agencies, and funding partners to facilitate audits and reviews as required.
- Provide guidance and support to staff and volunteers on financial matters, including training and capacity-building initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the healthcare or nonprofit sector.
- Strong understanding of nonprofit finance principles, fund accounting, and grant management.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to communicate financial information effectively to diverse stakeholders.
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality.
