Women Friendly Initiative (WFI) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to the improvement of the quality of life of particularly women, children, and the youth. Since 2003, WFI have worked closely with key stakeholders to address disease burdens and social deprivations amongst these populations cutting-edge edge, innovative and sustainable solutions. WFI strengthens local institutions, structures, and entities that enhance community health, economic and social welfare, and women and girl-child rights. In recent past, WFI in collaboration with the FMOH and NPHCDA developed, launched and piloted the implementation of the national guidelines on promoting access of AYFHS into primary health care facilities in Nigeria. WFI in partnership with Novel Association for Youth Advocacy is currently advocating for the implementation of the guidelines at sub-national level under her “Strengthening youth-serving coalition for the implementation of adolescent and youth-friendly health services (AYFHS) project in four states of Nigeria

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Finance Lead

Location: Kuje, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description
The successful candidate will:

  • Provide support in the preparation of periodic financial reports as required by the project
  • Ensure all expenses and retirements strictly adhere to t h e stipulated standard andglobal financial rules, regulations, and procedures
  • Contribute to designing activities to strengthen WFI internal controls.
  • Ensure financial systems are in compliance with Donor regulations
  • Attend project-specific internal/external audit.
  • Work with the Finance officer and accountant on the financial planning processes of the long-term (five-year planning) and short-term (annual budgeting) plans that feed into the WFI/YPE4AH Plans.
  • Work with other members of the project team in planning and forecasting.
  • Strictly adhere to WFI & USAID policies and procedures regarding financial report and procurement
  • Monitor and review staff advances, retirements, and post hold journals
  • Review reconciliation of the project’s bank account, and ledgers

Education

  • First Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and relevant accounting professional certification such as ICAN. Possession of a postgraduate certificate will be an advantage

Minimum Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in a finance position, implementing financial control systems at the managerial level and Sound with Practical Knowledge of accounting software and Spreadsheets.
  • Must be an excellent team player with the ability to work without, or with minimum supervision, and must possess and demonstrate a high level of integrity and transparency.
