This engagement is financed by individual and institutional support, with administrative costs kept to a minimum. Tdh in Nigeria implements projects in, Wash, Child. Protection, and Education sectors.

Name of the position: Finance Assistant
Contract duration: 30th April 2023 
Contract Extension: Extendable in line with fund Availability
Location: Maiduguri
Starting Date: ASAP

Key responsibilities:

General duties: Accounting

  • Daily update of the accountancy system according to the project activities and payments
  • Verify that all the receipts/invoices are correctly filled, and they are eligible for Tdh accountancy (indicating date, details of the supplier, clearly written the amount and with the stamp PAID).
  • Prepare Payment vouchers to be attached to the payments ensuring the correct donors and budget lines have been correctly charged
  • Archive all the relevant administrative and accountancy documentation in the proper way and according to Tdh procedures and make scans of the same
  • Collaborate in the preparation of documents for financial/annual audits.
  • Organize and ensure the filing of all supporting documents.
  • Remit staff monthly statutory deductions to the relevant authorities within the required deadlines

Cash management

  • Manage the petty cash box of the office, under the supervision of the Finance Manager • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual cash inventory.

Documentation and Archiving:

  • Operate filing, storage, and retrieval systems for all financial documents including their supporting documents both hard and soft copy. 
  • Manage logbook for incoming and outgoing documents and their details (i.e., who is borrowing, time and date, and expected the document will be returned) 
  • Comply with all documentation policies, standards, and processes. 
  • Provide support function to all projects to retrieve documents that are audited by the internal and external auditors. 
  • Follow up and Ensure filling of monthly staff pay slips and timesheets for all staff.
  • Participate in the weekly Finance department meeting

Audit Facilitation Support:

  • Support Finance in scanning documents and submission to auditors in clearing and closing audit queries 
  • Filling back all documents retrieved for audit

Others

  • Undertake all other duties that may be determined by the Finance Manager

  • High sense of integrity, rigor, and good flexibility skill.

Specific Competencies

  • Graduate of Accounting, Banking and Finance or related Management Sciences course
  • 0 – 2yrs Experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Excel, word, and power point)

Net Salary: 245,228 NGN
