Final Call for Applications: A2WG Women Leading the Change Cohort 2
Aid for African Women & Girls (A2WG) is pleased to announce that applications for Women Leading the Change Cohort 2 will continue for a limited final window from 1 June to 5 June 2026.
This opportunity is open to women across Nigeria who are passionate about leadership, civic engagement, governance, community impact, and democratic participation. As Nigeria prepares for the 2027 General Elections, A2WG is creating a space for women to build the confidence, knowledge, and networks needed to contribute meaningfully to credible, peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable outcomes at the grassroots.
Women Leading the Change Cohort 2 is designed for women who want to grow beyond personal ambition and become part of a wider movement of informed, courageous, and community-rooted leaders. The programme will support selected participants through leadership development, mentorship, peer learning, civic education, advocacy conversations, and practical engagement around women’s role in governance and public decision-making.
This call is especially important for women who believe that change must begin from the community level. Whether you are a student, young professional, community organizer, advocate, civil society actor, educator, journalist, entrepreneur, grassroots mobilizer, or emerging leader, this programme is an opportunity to strengthen your voice and expand your impact.
Applicants do not need to hold a political office or formal leadership position to apply. What matters most is a clear desire to learn, lead, participate, and contribute positively to Nigeria’s democratic future.
Who Can Apply?
Applications are open to:
- Women aged 18 to 50
- Women resident in any part of Nigeria
- Women passionate about leadership, governance, advocacy, civic participation, elections, peacebuilding, or community development
- Women willing to commit to learning, mentorship, and active participation throughout the programme
- Women ready to use their knowledge and voice to support positive change in their communities
