Field Project Coordinator (Consultant) At Young Africa International (YAI)

Location: Anambra State (with frequent travel to Edo State)
Contract Period: 3 months (with possibility of extension based on performance and availability)

Purpose of the Role

The Field Project Coordinator will oversee and coordinate the implementation of the Youth Employability Booster (YEB) Project in Anambra and Edo States. The role will focus on managing the rollout of the Franchise Business Model at Adon Vocational Academy (Anambra) and Benin Technical College (Edo), as well as coordinating the Mobile Training Program in Obasi, Anambra State.

The Consultant will ensure that activities are delivered on time, within scope, and to the expected quality, while building strong relationships with partners, beneficiaries, and local stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities Coordination & Implementation

  • Lead the implementation of YEB project activities in Anambra and Edo States.
  • Coordinate the establishment and operationalisation of the Franchise Business Model in Adon Vocational Academy and Benin Technical College.
  • Oversee the planning, logistics, and delivery of the Mobile Training Program in Obasi, Anambra State.
  • Liaise with training providers, local authorities, and community stakeholders to ensure effective project execution.
  • Support curriculum rollout, training schedules, and student mobilization.
  • Ensure alignment of project activities with the overall YEB project goals and donor requirements.

Monitoring, Reporting & Learning

  • Track progress of project activities against agreed work plans and timelines.
  • Monitor beneficiary participation and document key outcomes, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Lead the tracking of graduates post-training, capturing outcomes in employment, self- employment, and enterprise viability
  • Submit weekly updates and comprehensive monthly progress reports.
  • Work with the central M&E team to collect and validate data, ensuring accurate reporting.

Graduate Support & Placement.

  • Identify and build partnerships with private sector companies, SMEs, and industry associations for graduate internship, apprenticeship, and job placement opportunities.
  • Maintain an updated database of placement partners and link them with trained graduates.
  • Support graduates in accessing entrepreneurship opportunities, including referrals to business development services and access-to-finance initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the focal point for YEB project activities in Anambra and Edo States.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with vocational centers, technical colleges, government agencies, and other partners.
  • Represent the project at local stakeholder meetings and community sensitization sessions.

Financial & Administrative Oversight

  • Ensure project resources (equipment, materials, and funds) are utilized transparently and efficiently.
  • Support timely payments to service providers in line with organizational and donor policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of project expenses and ensure compliance with financial procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A degree or diploma in Social Sciences, Education, Entrepreneurship, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum  of 3–5 years’  experience in project coordination, preferably in youth

employability, vocational training, or economic empowerment projects.

  • Proven ability to manage multi-site projects and coordinate diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and reporting tools.
  • Experience in NGO, donor-funded, or development project environments is an added advantage.
  • Must be willing to reside in Anambra State and travel frequently within project locations.

Languages: Fluency in English and at least one local language is required.
