Peace Restoration and Integral Global Development Initiative (PRIDE) is a Nongovernmental, Non-profit Humanitarian/Developmental organization that was established in the year 2018, born out of a passion for the well-being of vulnerable women and children and crisis-affected persons in Nigeria. With a special interest in reducing suffering in society in times of crisis.
Nigeria is a developing country as a result, there are numerous challenges associated with this stage of the developmental process. Amongst these challenges are social unrest, communal/religious crisis, the violence of different cadres, poor level of environmental management, social media abuse, unemployment, insufficient basic amenities, and many more.
The most vulnerable in most cases are women and children because of their generic role in the Nigerian Society. That limits their day-to-day capacity to handle most of these life
challenges. It is in the interest of PRIDE to ensure that most of these challenges are reduced to the bare minimum or better still eradicated.
Through our programs of Area-based protection, psychosocial support, Protection, and assistance to the mentioned target population, we are mindful that these will go a long way in reducing the pain of suffering that the vulnerable groups face in times of such hardships. We provide aid to the most vulnerable population regardless of their religion, race, gender, and or political affiliation. Our decisions as an organization are not based on political, economic, or religious interests but solely on the needs of the affected population.

PRIDE is on a mission to enhance quality of life to the crisis affected communities. To support this effort, we’re looking for a highly skilled EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR to help us fulfill this important undertaking. Reporting to the board of directors, the executive director will oversee the strategic and operational efficiencies of our programs and staffing. This seasoned leader will not only understand current trends in the mission but will also have experience in developing and implementing a successful fundraising plan. Experience in hiring and managing staff is essential, and established relationships with local community groups is a plus. Above all, the executive director should be highly effective in a leadership role that requires clear communication skills and decisiveness.
Objectives of this role:
Work closely with board directors and committees to assess and address issues affecting the organization.
- Oversee daily operations of the organization, providing executive direction for program strategies and efficiencies, compliance, and quality assurance.
- Identify and address staffing requirements for efficient operations and maintain a strong work culture that attracts and retains people while driving the organization’s mission.
- Increase awareness of the organization by being the main spokesperson and liaison with local media
- Develop an actionable plan for fundraising and managing cash flow.
- Comply with all national and local regulations.
- Participate in Sector’s Coordination Meetings
- Co-chair CCCM/SNFIs Sector National NGOs Technical Working Groups Coordination Meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Create business development plans for achieving goals and objectives set in collaboration with the board of directors.
- Meet aggressive annual fundraising goals, in partnership with board of directors, by securing financial support from foundations, corporations, individual, donors, and government funding sources.
- Work with staff and board on annual fundraising benefit and additional events, and oversee all external communications, including website, newsletters, and social media.
- Serve as the face of the organization and participate in external events to increase visibility and develop strategic partnerships to further increase community awareness and expand programs.
- Build and lead an effective team that’s dedicated to fulfilling the organization’s mission through highly successful programs, community engagement, and fundraising.
- Manage staff members and clients whose experiences, cultures, and languages reflect the community served by the organization.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in senior management, preferably with nonprofit organizations
- Strong experience in donor relations, business development, and fundraising
- Knowledge of leadership and management principles for nonprofit organizations
- Proven success working with a board of directors.
- innovative mindset for a better humanitarian approach
- Dynamic and charismatic team player who enjoys being the public face of an organization.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
- MSc/BSc degree (or equivalent) in Social/Management Sciences (Economics, business, human resources, Law, or finance)
- Strong experience in managing and development budgets.
- Strong experience in SMART proposal Writing
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
