Unique Care and Support Foundation (CASFOD) is a children and women’s rights national non-governmental organization supporting the Humanitarian, Development and Peace (HDP) nexus. EDUCATION OFFICER

The following defines the roles and responsibilities of the education officer.

  • Work closely with the program manager in implementing and developing all aspects of the education project.
  • Develop activity concept notes and implement approved activities.
  • Compile and submit monthly and quarterly work plans and reports to the program manager.
  • Regularly follow up schools, identify needs of trainings, plan trainings, implement and report.
  • Plan a joint monitoring visit to schools and facilitate feedback session and regular discussion forum with school officials.
  • Work closely with the entire education team including teachers and volunteers and other thematic areas in implementing and developing all aspects of the project.
  • Work with communities to encourage enrolment of girls and suggest strategies to CASFOD to assist in planning, organizing and overseeing teacher-training programs and ensure follow up, monitoring and evaluation is done to support the teachers.
  • Supervise to ensure timely and accurate delivery of material supplies to schools and ensure proper distribution plan and documentation is in place.
  • Lead workshops for teachers, communities, PTAs, children and others as designated.
  • Support to improve digital literacy for girls in schools.
  • Oversee the implementation of girls only non-formal education programs.
  • Support career guidance for girls and women in schools.
  • Support livelihood empowerment of girls and women in the non-formal education centers.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience of working in Nigeria on Education or protection response.
  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to working with children in conflict affected communities.
  • Fluency in English and excellent writing skills.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Fair monitoring and evaluation skills/experience.
  • Knowledge of project cycle management.
