Peace Restoration and Integral Global Development Initiative (PRIDE) is a Non-governmental, Non-profit Humanitarian/Developmental organization that was established in the year 2018, born out of a passion for the well-being of vulnerable women and children and crisis-affected persons in Nigeria. With a special interest in reducing suffering in the society in times of crisis. This crisis may be as a result of conflict or natural disaster. The organization is currently focusing its attention on the NE/NW states of Nigeria.

WHO WE ARE?
Nigeria is a developing country as a result, there are numerous challenges associated with this stage of the developmental process. Amongst these challenges are social unrest, communal/religious crisis, the violence of different cadres, poor level of environmental management, social media abuse, unemployment, insufficient basic amenities such as water, electricity, health care, education, and many more.
The most vulnerable in most cases are women and children as a result of their generic role in the Nigerian Society. That limits their day-to-day capacity to handle most of these life challenges. It is in the interest of PRIDE to ensure that the majority of these challenges are reduced to the bare minimum or better still eradicated.
Through our programs of community-based protection, psychosocial support, protection, and assistance to the mentioned target population, we are mindful that these will go a long way in reducing the pain of suffering that the vulnerable face in times of such hardships.
We provide aid to the most vulnerable population regardless of their religion, race, gender, and or political affiliation. Our decisions as an organization are not based on political, economic, or religious interests but solely on the needs of the affected population.
BACKGROUND
PRIDE since its establishment in 2018 has been implementing humanitarian and developmental interventions in CCCM/Site Management, Protection, Food Security, Livelihood, Peace Building, Housing Land and Property (HLP), Shelter, Non-food Items (NFI), and Climate adaptation program. These interventions have directly targeted over 130,000 vulnerable Women, Men, Girls, and Boys including persons with disabilities.
Determined to expand our interventions to reach more vulnerable groups in conflict-affected areas, PRIDE is implementing humanitarian intervention in Nigeria with funding support from various donors.
To successfully implement the mentioned projects, PRIDE seeks the service of a qualified consultant to support this project planned to be implemented in Ngala LGA
Call for applications:
We are looking for expressions of interest from individual consultants, with subject-matter expertise in one or more of the following key areas to help PRIDE/IOM to Mainstream Environmental Rehabilitation and Mitigation Measures in IDP Sites in Ngala LGA of Borno State.
- Stakeholder engagement in environmental programming
- Evidence-based Need Assessment
- Environmental mitigation measures
The general scope of work:
- Objectives:
The main objectives of this consultancy service are as follows:
a) Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the organization’s environmental programming initiatives.
b) Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the initiatives in achieving environmental goals and objectives.
c) Identify opportunities for improvement and provide recommendations to enhance the organization’s environmental programming efforts.
d) Engage key stakeholders, including internal staff, external partners, community members, and relevant authorities, to gather their input and feedback for future programming.
2. Tasks and Deliverables:
The consultant will be responsible for the following tasks and deliverables:
a) Review of Existing Environmental Programming Initiatives:
– Thoroughly review the organization’s environmental programming initiatives, including policies, procedures, guidelines, and planned projects.
– Analyze the alignment of these initiatives with applicable environmental standards and regulations.
– Identify any gaps or weaknesses that need to be addressed.
b) Assessment of Effectiveness and Impact:
– Develop suitable evaluation criteria and indicators to assess the effectiveness and impact of the environmental programming initiatives.
– Collect and analyze data, conduct interviews, and utilize appropriate methods to evaluate the extent to which the initiatives have achieved their intended objectives.
– Identify lessons learned and challenges encountered during implementation.
c) Recommendations for Improvement:
– Provide clear and actionable recommendations to enhance the organization’s first-time environmental programming efforts, based on the assessment findings.
– Propose strategies to improve program efficiency, outcomes, and sustainability.
– Recommend innovative approaches and technologies to further improve environmental programming.
d) Stakeholder Engagement:
– Identify key stakeholders relevant to the organization’s environmental programming project.
– Develop a stakeholder engagement plan outlining effective methods for soliciting stakeholder input, conducting consultations, and fostering collaboration.
– Facilitate workshops, focus group discussions, and individual interviews to gather stakeholder perspectives, expectations, and suggestions.
– Summarize stakeholder feedback and incorporate it into the overall assessment and recommendations.
3. Reporting:
The consultant will submit progress reports at regular intervals, detailing the activities undertaken, findings, and initial observations. A final report, incorporating all the deliverables mentioned above, should be submitted at the end of the consultancy period.
The selected consultants will work independently in close coordination with the PRIDE Project team throughout the implementation period of the project.
The consultant involved will determine their precise scope of work and deliverables, The consultants will be required to produce deliverables that meet high-quality standards and strict deadlines in each phase of the research and reporting requirements.
Timeframe for the performance of work:
Work in the above-listed areas is expected to begin ASAP with the exact timing depending on receipt of an official task order from PRIDE. Selected candidates will be contacted regarding the next steps in the process and start as soon as the task order request is offered.
Formal requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor/master’s degree (at a minimum) in sciences, Environmental Science, Civil engineering, Architecture Information, monitoring and evaluation, community development studies, or a related subject-matter field.
Experience:
- For consultants – subject-matter experts: the candidate should have a minimum of five (5) years of work experience in the sector(s) relevant to the particular research of subject-matter expertise and research skills.
- For consultants – research (technical) experts: the candidate should have experience in a minimum of two (2) evaluations and/or assessments conducted for similar agencies (including evaluation of local policies/programs conducted), preferably as a lead/co-lead or five (5) years of experience in data collection and management.
- For all consultants: The candidates must have a proven record of effective assessment and stakeholder engagements with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and CSOs.
- The candidates must be fluent in English Hausa, Kanuri, and or Shuwa Arab, with the ability to produce well-written reports and demonstrated analytical and communication skills in each language.
