Job Title:  Communication and Reporting Officer   

Section: ICT    

Duration: 6 months

Duty Station: Adamawa state (With frequent travels across the area of operations)

Reports to:  Program Manager

Start Date: IMMEDIATELY

Purpose of Assignment:

The Communication and Reporting Officer is responsible for developing and managing internal and external communications, ensuring timely and high-quality reporting to donors, partners, and stakeholders. The role involves collecting and synthesizing program data, success stories, and field updates to produce compelling reports, visibility materials, and content that reflect the impact of humanitarian interventions. The officer also supports media engagement, brand visibility, and knowledge sharing across the organization, while ensuring compliance with donor communication guidelines and safeguarding standards.

 Major duties and responsibilities:

•          Compile and edit program reports, success stories, and donor updates.

•          Ensure timely submission of high-quality reports that meet donor and organizational standards.

•          Maintain a database of reports, photos, and field updates.

•          Create engaging content for newsletters, social media, websites, and visibility materials.

•          Develop communication tools such as brochures, infographics, and videos to showcase program impact.

•          Liaise with media outlets and manage press releases and media coverage.

•          Organize visibility events and support public engagement activities.

•          Facilitate information sharing across departments and field offices.

•          Support the development of internal bulletins, updates, and knowledge products.

•          Ensure all communication materials comply with donor visibility guidelines and organizational branding.

•          Review and approve field-generated content before external dissemination.

•          Support communication with partners, donors, and beneficiaries.

•          Contribute to advocacy efforts by producing evidence-based communication materials.

•          Collaborate with MEAL teams to gather data and stories that demonstrate program outcomes.

•          Use communication tools to amplify learning and accountability.

            Safeguarding

QUALIFICATION and COMPETENCIES (indicates the level of proficiency required for the job.)

EDUCATION & OTHER SKILL: BSc Mass Communication or other relevant disciplines.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Four years of professional work experience in planning, programming, implementation monitoring and evaluation of Nutrition project/program. Professional work experience in a project/program management function or a technical expert capacity in health or Nutrition care

•          Background/familiarity with Emergency.

•          Excellent communications skills, both oral and written

•          Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations

•          Strong writing and presentation skills

•          Proven capabilities in leadership required

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY: Fluency in English and local working language of the duty station will be an asset.
