We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Child Protection Officer

Location: Mubi, Adamawa
Employment Type: Contract

Job Description

  • Facilitate all trainings and train Outreach PSS Animators and Facilitators.
  • Collate and compile all work plans and share weekly with the team.
  • Conduct referral and protection mapping, as well as any other assessments.
  • Lead the formation and initial training of Child Protection Committees (CPCs).
  • Ensure CPC meetings and activities are held regularly.
  • Maintain documentation, reports, and records per agreed procedure.
  • Facilitate mentoring and coaching of CPCs on various topics.
  • Maintain documentation and M&E systems at the community/state office level.
  • Ensure all financial activities conducted in camps are properly documented.
  • Ensure all cases are referred to identified stakeholders.
  • Participate in CP sub-sector coordination meetings and any other CP coordination meetings as requested.
  • Coordinate with the sub-CP Sector to assure adequate and children-centered solutions are considered in strategic planning.
  • Supervise PSS Animators and Facilitators during Child-Friendly Space (CFS) activities.
  • Ensure humanitarian safeguarding matrix standards are understood and met.
  • Inform parents and caregivers about the progress of children attending CFS.
  • Conduct weekly visits to CFS locations to ensure cleanliness.
  • Ensure PSS Animators conduct daily inventory after CFS activities end.
  • Finalize CFS timetable using the CFS guidelines handbook.
  • Lead on informing parents and BIoffice about security situations.
  • Report general protection issues present in the communities to the BIProgram Manager.
  • Participate in CP assessments and analysis processes.
  • Adhere to child safeguarding and protection policies and reporting standards.
  • Write and submit weekly activity reports.
  • Perform other ad hoc tasks as requested by the Line Manager.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess Bachelor’s Degrees with 2 – 3 years relevant work experience.
  • Proven ability to supervise a CP project with a holistic approach and integrated child protection rights.
  • Fluent in English and Hausa.
  • Computer literate.
  • Desirable Criteria:
  • High level of personal integrity, commitment, and professional responsibility.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Team player with strong leadership skills.
  • Mature personality with life experience is an advantage.
  • Able to be a self-starter and work in challenging contexts and fragile environments.
