Job Title: Livelihood Volunteer
Job Summary:
The Livelihood volunteer is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring livelihood programs and initiatives aimed at improving the livelihood status of individuals, communities, or target populations.
Responsibilities:
- Community Engagement: Engage with community members to understand their needs, aspirations, and existing livelihood practices.
- Training and Capacity Building: Organize and facilitate training sessions on various skills relevant to livelihood improvement, such as vocational skills, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, workshops, and agricultural techniques.
- Business Development Support: Provide guidance and mentorship to individuals or groups interested in starting or expanding small businesses, including market research, business planning, and access to markets.
- Technical Assistance: Offer technical support and advice on improving production techniques, product quality, and value addition for agricultural or craft-based livelihoods.
- Promotion of Sustainable Practices: Encourage the adoption of environmentally sustainable and socially responsible practices in livelihood activities to ensure long-term viability and resilience.
- Advocacy and Empowerment: Advocate for policies and programs that support sustainable livelihoods and empower community members to actively participate in decision-making processes related to their economic well-being.
- Cultural Sensitivity and Respect: Respect local customs, traditions, and cultural norms while implementing livelihood interventions, and ensure that initiatives are culturally appropriate and inclusive.
- Conflict Resolution and Mediation: Address conflicts and disputes that may arise among community members or stakeholders involved in livelihood activities, and facilitate constructive dialogue and resolution processes.
Required Qualification
Experience and Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s .degree in Agriculture, Economics, Business administration, or a related field is typically required.
- 1 year of experience preferably in Agriculture, Economics Business administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Excel software.
- Strong knowledge of livelihood principles, environmental sustainability.
- Proficiency in providing livelihood counseling and education to individuals and communities.
- Data analysis skills to interpret environmental data and assess program impact.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey complex information in a clear and understandable manner.
