Anticipated timeframe: Oct to Nov 2023 Location: Abuja, Nigeria, hybrid working
Nigeria’s 2020 Voluntary National Review (VNR) on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) focused on the key issues of poverty (SDG-1), an inclusive economy (SDG-8), health and wellbeing (SDG-3), Education (SDG-4), Gender equality (SDG-5), the enabling environment of peace and security (SDG-16), and partnerships (SDG-17).
As we have reached the mid-point of Nigeria’s SDGs project work, we need to implement a mid-term analysis report to measure progress in the SDGs implementation in terms of disability inclusion. In partnership with Joint National Association of Persons With Disability (JONAPWD) and Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs (OSSAP-SDG), we intend to conduct a mid-term analysis report.
We are looking to hire a consultant to conduct a policy analysis and review of Nigeria’s SDGs implementation, the results feeding into the next VNR for the country.
Expected Deliverables
A work plan for the assignment to be prepared in consultation with Sightsavers and built on the purpose as set out above
An inception report which sets out in more details the scope of the analysis and begins to identify the status of SDGs implementation in Nigeria.
A detailed analysis report based upon both the literature review, consultation findings, and interviews with key informants. This should include an analysis of Nigeria’s SDGs progress over the last seven and a half years from a disability perspective. This will include submitting a draft for review and a final report.
Schedule of payment
Daily rate to be discussed at interview. Paid monthly, subject to milestones being reached which will be discussed with the project manager at interview stage.
Consultant Specifications
- In depth knowledge and professional experience working within the field of disability inclusion particularly policy analysis and strategy review
- Expertise in human rights, disability law and disability issues
- Previous experience preparing high quality analytical reports
- Strong qualitive research and policy analysis
- Proven track record working with organisations of people with disabilities
- Excellent communication and time management
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Able to travel across multiple locations or states in Nigeria
