Plan International was founded over 75 years ago with a mission to promote and protect the rights of children. The organisation was set up by British journalist John Langdon-Davies and refugee worker Eric Muggeridge in 1937, with the original aim to provide food, accommodation and education to children whose lives had been disrupted by the Spanish Civil War. Langdon-Davies conceived the idea of a personal relationship between a child and a sponsor – a model that puts the child at the center, and remains the core of what we do. Today, Plan International is a global organisation that is active in over 70 countries to advance children’s rights and equality for girls.

The opportunity
The purpose of this role is to support the implementation of the EU funded project; Building Resilient Education Systems project activities in Adamawa state in North Eastern Nigeria and Sokoto state in North Western Nigeria.
About You
- We are looking for a candidate with a university degree or equivalent in Education, Social Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- The candidate should have at least 3 years of relevant experience in Education in Emergencies or similar contexts.
- S/he should demonstrate good knowledge and understanding of the DO NO HARM principles and established international child protection standards (especially UNCRC) with experience in participatory approaches to education, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, or other related area. Additionally, the candidate should have previous experience directly providing services to children at risk and victims of abuse, exploitation and violence.
