YPHO works closely with communities, government agencies, and international partners to promote resilience, dignity, and self-reliance among populations affected by conflict, displacement, and poverty.

Location: Gwoza-Dikwa, Borno State
Duration: 6 Months (Renewable based on performance and funding)
Closing Date: 20th November 2025

Position Summary:

The WASH Officer will support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) activities in target communities. The role ensures the provision of safe water, improved sanitation, and hygiene promotion in line with project objectives and international standards.

Key        Responsibilities:

  • Implement WASH activities including borehole rehabilitation, latrine construction, and hygiene promotion.
  • Conduct community mobilization and hygiene awareness sessions.
  • Supervise WASH infrastructure works and ensure quality control.
  • Monitor the functionality of WASH facilities and ensure maintenance.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports.
  • Work closely with community leaders and local authorities to ensure sustainability.

Qualifications and       Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in WASH programming in humanitarian contexts.
  • Technical knowledge of WASH infrastructure and community mobilization.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and reporting tools.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
