Role Overview
Are you passionate about climate action and community impact?
We’re looking for a Volunteer Climate Action Lead who will champion local environmental initiatives, engage communities, and support our growing advocacy efforts—both offline and online. This is a leadership role for someone ready to make a measurable difference.
Key Responsibilities
As a Climate Action Lead, you will:
- Lead Local Climate Projects such as tree planting, clean energy awareness, and waste reduction campaigns.
- Mobilize Communities by coordinating LGA Climate Action Officers, hosting workshops, and collaborating with schools, NGOs, and local stakeholders.
- Drive Climate Advocacy by creating content for blogs, social media, and webinars that build climate literacy and influence policy.
- Support Research & Strategy aligning programs with global frameworks like the SDGs and Paris Agreement.
- Coordinate Events including climate rallies, seminars, and fundraising initiatives.
- Track and Report Impact through data collection, progress tracking, and stakeholder updates.
Who Should Apply?
We’re looking for someone who is:
- A graduate in Climatology, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Geography, or a related field (MSc is an advantage).
- Deeply passionate about climate justice and sustainability.
- Skilled in leadership, communication, and project management.
- Comfortable working with diverse teams and local communities.
- Creative, proactive, and solution-oriented.
