Plan International Nigeria is seeking to engage one Local Non-Governmental Organizations to implement a Nutrition project: Enhancing Infant and Young Children’s Nutrition in Nigeria through Home Fortification.

In addition to flagship nutrition-focused programming, across Nigeria, Plan is improving governance, building economic security and livelihoods, improving youth influencing, supporting inclusive education and strengthening health systems. Plan is represented in two global clusters by the Food Assistance & Nutrition Unit: The Global Nutrition Cluster and the Global Food Security Cluster, and Plan is a member of the Nutrition Cluster Working Group in Nigeria.
We take a holistic approach to health and nutrition, recognizing that different approaches need to be taken for the multiple contexts and environments in which we work, recognizing the importance of a life-course approach with tailored interventions to support sexual and reproductive health, through maternal health, childbirth, infancy, early childhood development and into adolescence.
Plan International has been a pioneer in child safeguarding and has invested resources in its mainstreaming across the organization through development of minimum standards, procedures and tools, all using an intersectional lens.
As a child’s right organization, we are experienced in child health programming ensuring that vulnerable and excluded children in development and humanitarian settings get the care, support and services needed to survive, grow up healthy and develop to their full potential. We recognize that in a child’s early years – especially the first 1,000 days when a child’s brain development is at its most rapid – foundations are laid that are critical for future wellbeing and resilience, mental and physical health, intellectual progress and social interaction. As such, this project will provide Plan with the opportunity to ensure that women and children receive the service and support needed to set the foundations for them to enjoy lifelong good health in Abuja.
