ECEWS is implementing a US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) funded project aimed at Delivering Comprehensive and Sustainable HIV/AIDS Clinical and Community Services to achieve HIV epidemic control in sub-National units of Delta, Osun and Ekiti States in Nigeria under PEPFAR and the Accelerating Control for HIV Epidemic Project (ACE) funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Akwa Ibom & Cross River States targeted at achieving epidemic control thereby reducing transmission and improving the quality of life of those living with HIV.

Job Description

  • S/he will be the Ekiti State HTS and prevention POC.
  • Lead the design and implementation of approaches in sexual transmission prevention, HIV Testing and Counselling Services, Key population services and other prevention services. 
  • Support the design and implementation of prevention programs for special populations (such as female sex workers, men who have sex with men, people who inject drugs, etc.).
  • Provides technical assistance to CBOs/NGOs/FBOs and other sub-partners on prevention interventions.
  • Supports collaboration among partners involved in HIV programs and promotes use of internationally recognized best practices and evidence-informed HIV prevention interventions/services among the organization sponsored programs in Nigeria.
  • Supports the process of developing/reviewing and adapting HIV Testing and Counselling, Partner notification services, index partner services training curricula and other documents to meet appropriate international standards, regional protocols, and local realities.
  • Maintains strong and collaborative relationships with all key stakeholders of project including community animators, CDC, MOHs, state institutions, and other partners to support program implementation.
  • Any other duties as assigned.  

Minimum Recruitment Standard •      First Degree in any field, a Master’s Degree in Public Health as an advantage.

  • At least 7 years’ post NYSC experience in HIV programing preferably in the NGO context. With at least 3 of those years in HIV prevention programing senior.
  • At least 2 years working knowledge of the National and PEPFAR/CDC HIV prevention program priorities.
  • An in depth understanding of KP programming with demonstrable evidence.
  • Commitment to and understanding of the organization ’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches.
  • Proven track record/abilities to manage MDT and deliver on target.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, as evidenced through previous work experience and results achieved; capable of effective and efficient development, management and tracking of large-scale projects.
  • Superior partnering skills, exceptionally strong and highly effective working relationships with internal & external partners/stakeholders especially KP stakeholders.
  • Excellent leadership skills; can manage MDT, develop individual skills and abilities, while driving teams to meet or exceed targets & goals.
  • History of loyalty and trust with proven integrity and ability to manage confidential information
