Background
Justice, Development and Peace Initiative (JDPI) is a non-governmental organization which has been engaged in developmental works in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States for the past 50 years. JDPI also focuses on Agriculture, WaSH, Nutrition, MHPSS and other emergency programming, reaching out to all people based on need, regardless of creed, ethnicity or nationality.
JDPI is inviting suitably qualified candidates for the above-mentioned position to work in Maiduguri.

Project Description
As a lead for the Senior Project Officer (Multisector), you will lead the coordination and delivery of project interventions under the Program Lead supervision and CRS Programs Manager, ensuring access to safe, inclusive, and accountable services. organization and monitoring of related activities aimed at improving the project goals. The Senior Project Officer will supervise and coordinate the activity of FSL, Nutrition, MAMI, SDPP and Infrastructure Officers, He/She will collaborate with all sector interventions to achieve optimal multisectoral integration and impact. He/She will use their technical, facilitation and management skills to ensure that project implements high-quality, cost-effective and locally appropriate activities in all target communities. You will provide active capacity building, facilitation, and technical coordination to the JDPI field program team. Your coordination and relationship skills will ensure best practices and constantly work towards improving the impact of its benefits to those we serve.
Key Responsibilities
Project Implementation and Technical Support
- Ensuring implementation of project activities to achieve project results.
- Closely monitor and supervise project officers.
- Track detailed implementation plans (DIPs) and coordinate sectoral teams to align activities.
- Lead the coordination of project component interventions (Nutrition, MAMI, Infrastructure, WASH, Protection, and livelihoods).
- Oversee infrastructure development and rehabilitation, ensuring adherence to SPHERE and donor standards
- Support in the design and preparation of bills of quantities (BOQs), technical specifications, and quality assurance frameworks.
- Ensure integration of cross-sectoral components for holistic community impact.
- Ensure cross-sectoral synergies to maximize impact and avoid duplication
- Provide technical guidance on Nutrition and MAMI interventions, ensuring adherence to international standards.
- Oversee Infrastructure projects, including design reviews, quality assurance, and compliance with safety/environmental standards.
- Support Protection activities, ensuring safe and dignified programing both in work design and project implementation.
- Guide FSL (Food Security & Livelihoods) programming, including cash-for-work, agricultural support, and market-based interventions.
- Perform all other activities related to organization’s businesses and be flexible to perform duties as defined by the organization.
- Ensure accountability mechanisms are in place for beneficiaries
- Ensure efficient resource allocation and timely procurement of materials.
- Flag financial or operational risks to management and propose corrective actions.
Coordination and Representation
- Work with Project Officers for effective coordination.
- Ensure project activities are aligned with JDPI and CRS standard
- Foster collaboration between technical teams to ensure integrated delivery
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Work with MEAL Team to capture and report Project data.
- Provide timely reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) on project implementation.
- Ensure accountability to beneficiaries and stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in management, Social Research, Development Studies or a related field (Masters/higher qualifications are an added advantage)
- Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in supervisory roles
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant field-based experience in coordinating or managing light to moderately complex projects (multi-sectoral),
- Experience collaborating or working with local development or humanitarian actors.

- Language: English and Hausa
